Hey John,

Now when you keep your CD4 growing and above the 200 mark, and I mean probably above 300 for some time, then you can stop the Bactrim.  That way you will have that in your arsenal when you need it again.

Good News!

Love,
The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals,
and 362 to heterosexuals.
This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,
It's just that they need more supervision.

I agree. I think its great that your labs have improved so much, but as someone who started the entire journey with and AIDS DX, I was told that once you get that kind of DX you never loose it.

But again, way to go on the labs

Actually I think one of the US States (Alabama perhaps?) started revoking AIDS diagnoses once victims reached the 200 mark so they could cut off their cheap medications.

In Australia an AIDS diagnoses is forever.

That's for sure; the only reason I mentioned it was for accuracy.  FWIW, I 'earned' my AIDS diagnosis, the easy way.  I got PCP with a relatively high CD4 count and %... none of that waiting for numbers to drop for me to get sick!   ;)  Like others have said (and I neglected to mention), congrats on the improvements.

Huh?  Maybe I'm being dense here, but huh?  That doesn't make any sense at all.

Must be my accent.

Sometime back I remember someone posting that one of the US states started reclassifying people whose CD4's rose above 200 as HIV positive. This allowed the state authority to cut off cheap medications provided to poor people who had previously received a diagnosis of AIDS.

For some reason I recall the state in question being Alabama. But I could be wrong.

Ya dig?

I suspect the purpose of John's post was to share his good news with us, not turn the thread into a discussion regarding the terminology of HIV disease.

I would hope that everyone would focus on that instead on turning the topic of this thread into something else.

John, let me reiterate, your most recent labs are  something to celebrate.  Thank you for sharing them with us.

No worries about the AIDS question.

I actually thought about saying something to the effect of: "of course, I'll always have AIDS..'

Then I thought....fuck it.    Just for today, fuck it.
