I am recovering from a knee scope done last week- doing just great, thank you!- and want to share the experience with you.
This is the second time I have used this doctor but the first time, 2 years ago, I did not know I was positive. I informed the doctor about this at my first revisit with him and he could not have been more supportive. He said that it really did not make that much of a difference as the used Universal health precautions, but I stated that it IS important for everyone involved to know and take that extra precaution. All the staff at the hospital were wicked cool, I was even able to update them on treatments and changes in meds, etc. as most of these professionals had not had a brush up since the mid 90"s. Their ideas of what was going on were absolutely old fashioned.
All of them were amazed that I am only on one pill-Atripla- While it is a "combo" drug, they were amazed that is was one pill, once a day.
All in all a great experience and we all learned a lot from the visit.
Keep your medical providers in the loop- this includes eye doctors and dentists. There are things that they can check for when you have your visit with them.
