Treat Yourself For Christmas
« on: December 11, 2006, 10:22:51 pm »
Hello,

Christmas is usually a time of great stress for all of us, especially those of us who work in the retail arena..."No, I'm sorry but I can't gift wrap that chandelier for you".  Believe me, I could tell some stories on this whole subject...another time, perhaps.  Anyway, to say the least, Christmas isn't quite what it used to be for all of us.  And please God, will someone tell my sister to not buy me another f*cking Nascar running suit for Christmas...I'm running out of places to unload them...granted Jeff Gordon is cute in a "closeted homo sort of way".

Back on track here, I decided after I spent my hard earned money (yeah right...CREDIT CARD Hell) on my folks and nephews, and yes, I did buy my sister something, even though she is one of those, "I love you -BUT- you are going to burn in the eternal fires of Hell kind of people"...that I was going to treat myself to something not too expensive (I have to leave room on the credit cards for HIV drugs).

I made my purchase and they arrived today.  My West Coast, brown suede roller skates (quad's-NOT ROLLER BLADES-I'm old school, thank you) came by Santa's UPS truck.  I ripped them open and headed out to enjoy the day.  It was so awesome and beautiful...I even listened to some 80s music on my Ipod to recall my days at the roller rink.

I decided to throw caution to the wind and take a chance on looking like a total Geek.  Damn, I'm glad I did.  I can't wait for my next day off and hit it again.

Moral of the story:  You are never too old to find your fun in life.  Do it while you can.

Amosboy

P.S. I expect my ass to be sore tomorrow...you can figure that one out.  I wanted to keep this "upbeat"  :D

Hey Brooks...

That is way so cool. I burst out into laughter when I saw the picture of the old school roller skates. Yes, those were the days when Disco was pumping through the sound system in the roller rink.

Yes, you are right, you are NEVER too old to have some fun! It makes me sit here and think of what would be a fun gift this Holiday Season? Hhhhmmm...time to TAP into the creativity and see what becomes of it.

Thanks for Sharing with us! Upbeat indeed. There is positive energy in this room tonight!

Happy Holidays!

I didn't know they made that kind of skate anymore! I have rollerblades collecting dust in the basement-not nough stability in those suckers, and you can feel every pebble in the road!

If the holidays get you down even a little bit, buying and spending money can make you feel worse. Definitely indulge a little on yourself! ( I know I do) :D

Hey Amos,

Those are really nice...  Do the shoes come with or can they be purchased separately?   I took my friend to Macy's because his married girlfriend had his daughter and that baby needed a diamond necklace from her daddy.  We had it delivered to her job with a dozen red roses and one pink rose.  Have the best day

Hey Paul,

There is more to the story... I chose the necklace and charged it on my store card.  I really like diamonds.  I bought myself a gift yesterday but it isn't legal in some states.  Have the best day

Eric, that looked like fun! I went once in my life, but I was so damn much taller than everyone else, that was  enough for me!

Michael, I won't tell, shhh!

I wanna know more about the relationship(s) going on in what sounds like one juicy tale!?

Hey Paul,

It wouldn't be fair to put the story on the web... However, as I last counted the votes for AMG 07, I find that my community is top on the list or very near top.  We all live on the Russian River, it is a very small town and everyone knows everybodys everything.  If I get drunk and pass out in the parking lot, the store clerk can fill in the details.  Have the best day

NTK, Brooks (need to know).  Did you do it with the skates on? :) Win

Funny and quite witty...I might add.  I like that in a man.  My ass usually only gets sore about once a year...around New Year's (My way of saying to my BF of ten years, "See, you can be a top").  Maybe I will leave my skates on for that monumental event...that'd be something different, and I'm all for trying new things  ;D  Although I can safely say, I won't be on my back...those skates are too damn heavy to hold over my head, though I last only five minutes or so with a wanker up my bum...once that happens...out, out, out!  :P  Standing up might not work either, for obvious reasons...hmmm...I'll give this some thought and get back to you.

My treat would be pictures of Amosboy's New Years "celebration"  :)
And I wished for guidance, and I wished for peace
I could see the lightning; somewhere in the east
And I wished for affection, and I wished for calm
As I lay there - Nervous in the light of dawn
