Two California men on a gay cruise of the Caribbean were arrested Wednesday in Dominica, where sex between two men is illegal.

Maybe that cruise line should have briefed the guests that they can't screw in public when they are in port.
I bet there are a number of countries where buggery is illegal and if I were a tour operator I would advise gay customers to at least be discrete.

They were arrested and charged with indecent exposure because they were having sex in public. They were not charge with "buggery". Yes, it is bad these repressive laws are on the books but this arrest doesn't seem particularly shocking given the other severe abuses that occur in other countries.

Maybe you should get your reading glasses checked. What Ford said was correct.

Police Constable John George said police boarded the cruise ship and arrested the two men on suspicion of indecent exposure and “buggery,” a term equivalent to sodomy on the island. He identified the men as John Robert Hart, 41, and Dennis Jay Mayer, 43, but did not provide their hometowns.

George said the men were seen having sex on the Celebrity Summit cruise ship by someone on the dock.

The two were later charged with indecent exposure and are scheduled to appear before a magistrate Thursday morning. If found guilty, they could be fined $370 each and face up to six months in jail.

It's that way almost every where isn't it, unless your @ the Dore Alley Street Fair - SOMA - San Francisco, CA or The Folsom Street fair every yr. then it seems to get overlooked even by the local Cops , as long as it doesn't get outta hand and it stays in a designated area, not open to plain view

The men's attorney, Bernadette Lambert, said they were remorseful.

"They were struck by the beautiful mountains, the clean and clear fresh air and were having a few cocktails, and so threw caution to the wind," she told the court.

I wonder if Palm Springs will be throwing them a parade upon their return home?

How pathetic is it to actually live in one of the biggest gay resort cities in the US, then take a gay cruise for vacation? Is it to much to ask these rainblow flag waving freedom ring wearing queers to mix it up a bit and do something like a wine tasting tour in the Rías Baixas?

The guys in the pic were just 2 years apart in age? I would have said at least 10, but more like 15. So, it was just the Gladys Kravitz's word against theirs? No video surveillance for proof? No ship personnel backing up the claim? I would have just said the person was making it up, if there was no proof. I doubt that would have done any good there, though. Anti-gay nuts could do this with every gay ship that comes to port. They apparently confessed, but who knows whether their lawyer said confessing would be easier than fighting it. It would be interesting to know whether there were other people who backed up the person on the doc. But, I'm not totally naive. I'm sure they were getting it on with an audience. Still, no other witnesses and I would have said the person was mistaken.
