Title: PLEASE HELP
Post by: scared13 on December 21, 2006, 05:16:58 pm
ON DECEMBER 2 I HAD MET UP WITH ONE OF MY EX BOYFRIENDS AND WE ENDED UP DRINKING.  LATER ON THAT NIGHT WE WERE FOOLING AROUND, I WAS MOSTLY TEASING HIM BUT HE KEPT TRYING TO ENTER ME AND I STOPPED HIM EVERY TIME.  SO THERE WAS PRETTY MUCH JUST SOME RUBBING (PENIS AND VAGINAL) AND THE TIP MAY HAVE WENT IN SLIGHTLY.  ON DECEMBER 12 HE WENT AND GOT TESTED WITH ONE OF THEM RAPID HIV TESTS AND IT CAME UP NEGATIVE.  I CANNOT STOP WORRYING ABOUT THIS.  BASED ON WHAT I HAVE TOLD, WHAT DO YOU THINK MY CHANCES ARE

You should get tested if you are sexually active every 6 months.  Speaking to this case specifically, I personally would say NO you have no risk for HIV infection.

Others will chime in and say the same im sure.

Your risk for this rubbing of genitals--oh what is that term, it has left my mind--for HIV is nonexistant.  So chances for HIV based on this incident.  Zero.  Zilch.  Nada.

Scared,

Could you please not shout at us? Writing in all CAPS is considered shouting on the internet and it is difficult to read.

The rubbing of genitals - frottage - is not a risk for hiv infection. If there is doubt in your mind as to whether or not you were entered, the only way to reliably know your hiv status is through testing.

Frottage can be risky business - for the simple reason that is can be all too easy to get carried away and allow unprotected intercourse to occur. "Teasing" your potentially insertive partner when you do not have a condom handy probably isn't the best idea. Anytime you allow a man to put his penis inside you without a condom on, you are putting yourself at risk for hiv and other sexually transmitted infections.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL STIs together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with a sexually transmitted infection. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple.

Today I tried to get tested thru the same woman that tested me and my ex boyfriend about a month ago, and she told me she would NOT test me because there is no way he gave it to me.  She told me that based on his results and sexual encounters previous to my incident, he didnt give it to me....does that sound normal???

scared,

Yes, that sounds right if you were trying to test at a place where the testing is free. Many free testing sites will NOT test over a no risk incident. Places where you have to pay for testing WILL test over a no risk incident, because that's how they make their money.
