Boy Scouts of America Lift Gay Youth Membership Ban...

However, ban on gay adults remains:

So, the clock starts to tick to an exit at the age of majority (adulthood) if one continues to be gay.

BSA now stands for Boy Sodomizers of America, because that's what will happen. Mark my words.

My partner, Brian, is an Eagle Scout.  He was happy about the news, but disappointed about the ban on adults.  He said you work to achieve the Eagle Scout designation, but then you're forced to leave when you turn 18.

He has been asked to come back and participate.  He doesn't have the time with his job and volunteer firefighter duties, but he felt he couldn't return and lie, regardless.  He is hopeful that this is one step forward, and they will eventually change the rules on adults.  And, it really is a shame.  They would be lucky to have him.  I use to make fun of scouting, but it really did teach him so much about how to do various types of manual labor.  If we were stranded somewhere, he would have shelter set up, a fire going, and probably something to eat, while I would be trying to see if I could get a cell signal.
