Title: Atripla's one hour variance
Post by: wtfimpoz on October 14, 2010, 11:01:47 pm
Upon starting treatment, I was told explicitly by my doc that I could safely vary my dosage time by one hour in any direction, earlier or later.  I've been keeping a med log and just realized how much some of my dosing times have varied from one week to the next.  Is there any kind of agreement that this is a safe practice?

I've read it is longer than that--even up to 4 hours.  I'm not the expert here, so others can give you better info.

When I was on meds, not Atripla mind you, but Truvada was included in the mix, which is one of the ingredients in Atripla, my doc said the same thing, one hour either direction, with the ideal being at the same time each day.

They say 95% adherence is the goal, so if you're only 1 hour late in 24, I'd assume that you achieve that as long as you don't miss a dose.  Still, it's kinda scary to see myself take it as late as 1 or 2 some days and a week or so later realize im taking it at 11.  Thanks a lot for the input guys.

I take it before bed, with up to 6-10 hours variance.  I don't suggest this for anyone else.

LMFAO, I'm not about to, but thanks for the reassurance.  Makes me feel a lot less paranoid about the night of my birthday, when I took it one hour and seven minutes later than the last.

i personaly took my meds at the same time in some days not all,it happen two days ago
went out with friends and came back late 2am but still took it.my advice is whence you're undetectable
it doesn't mater the time ,but do not miss your dose.i tried it many times and went for my lab
test everything was fine.sometimes two hours or even before the time reach i took it.

I generally take mine two hours either side of the previous one dose time. But like Hellraiser have taken it later and not had a problem. The components of Atripla have a long half life.

My doc gave me the same OK, by the way.  11PM, 4AM, as long as I got it in me.

I'm with Hellraiser on this one. I too have taken it sometimes 4-6 hours after my usual time but for the most part I try to be consistent with the times since I don't like the vary the habit.
