Been Sick, sick and more sick...
« on: August 03, 2010, 08:28:07 am »

It started last Tuesday evening with a tickle, and some scratchiness in the throat. I knew I had picked up something.  By the time Saturday came around, I could barely talk.  Been getting some relieve, by using Chloraseptic  spray and lozenzes.

This has been one of the worst sore throats, I've had in a long time.  I didn't have any fevers, sweats, chills, or elevated temp, Just a raw sore throat.

On Sunday, it settles in the upper lungs, with a lot of coughing, and quite a bit a phlegm coming up.  Lots of sniffles too. Can't seem to wipe my nose enough, it just poors out.

Well it's Tuesday, things are going better.  The congestion has cleared up, the throat is still a little sore. I think I am past the worse of it.

One of the good things is that my appetite has been good through all of this

The thing that pisses me off, is this is supposed to be my vacation.  I started vacation this past Friday morning, and then to have to deal with this, is just lousy.

Same thing happened last year.  Several days before vacation, same thing !! >:(

Sorry--that sucks!  Take care.  I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like your typical summer cootie.  Good thing your appetite is still strong.  Plenty of liquids and rest! :)

Oh Ray, I'm so sorry this happened, especially on your vacation.  I sure hope it leaves (for good) soon! :-*

Thanks everyone,

I am doing a lot better now. We went out today and did the mile walk, tomorrow , we're heading to the beach, for a swim. I am on the road to recovery !!  :)

I don't have to be back to work until the 15th, so there's still time to make some good of this vacation !

It's my last day of vacation today. Even though I've made great progress on getting rid of this cold, I am still just a little off.  I go back to work tomorrow night.

Today, I felt good enough to convince Ed to go to the Hardrock Casino.  We had about a mile to go, and my low tire pressure light came on. ( I thought I hit something in the road, but wasn't sure).
I didn't think much of it, as it's been about a month since I check the tire pressure, and figured they were all probably down a pound or two in pressure.

I pulled into the spot in the parking garage, and looked around,  the back left rear tire, was just about flat.

I then attempted to change to the donut spare,   and I couldn't budge the lug nuts.  In fact,  I bent and twisted the wrench trying.

So , I said to Ed," lets go back", I figured I had enough air to get me to the gas station.

By the time I was putting air, back into the tire, I was listening to the air coming right back out.

So I put in about 33 pounds worth, and by the time I got to Tire Kingdom,  I was practically riding the rim,  the car was swaying all over.   ::)

Long story short.  I had to get a new tire @ $103.00.  This was an hour and a half waiting time , to get this done. There was a hole in the tire, but riding it low, split it around the sidewall, which I kind of expected to happen.

Never went back to the Casino.  Went for Chinese, and came back home.  This vacation, really sucked !!  :P

Damn, Ray.  Sounds like you need a vacation to get over your vacation.  Sorry it sucked so much.

Isn't that the truth !!  :)  I have my cardiology appointment for Monday afternoon. I am going to see if right after that, I can get to see someone, about the throat.  I may need an antibiotic, to help knock this out.  This is very rare to have something last this long.

Wow Ray,

That really does suck. I hope you can kick that sore throat and begin to feel better again.

I will be sending healing energy your way.

HUGS,
