Title: Do I have HIV
Post by: shawnp72 on July 06, 2013, 05:59:28 pm: 9 days ago i had anal sex with a man. I was the one on top. The condom broke. I dont know exactly when it broke. I found out it broke when i ejaculated.

9 days later, i am feeling tired and my muscles ache on and off. I have not had a fever. What should I do i am very scared. I met this guy off of craigslist and he said he did not have any sort of std.

You will need to test at the appropriate time and that's 6 weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results .

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Post by: shawnp72 on July 07, 2013, 07:43:10 pm: Jeff I forgot to mention that i am also feeling joint pains and an on and off headache. I also feel a pain in my neck as well. Do you think im still at a high risk? I am very anxious to the point its messing with my day to day functions.

and also what testing options do i have if i want to test as soon as possible

Also what are the early symptoms of hiv?

Post by: RapidRod on July 07, 2013, 07:56:42 pm: If one has ARS symptoms they come on 2-4 weeks post infection and last 1-2 weeks. So the answer to your question is no.
