infection risk
« on: December 01, 2010, 06:09:41 pm »
knew this girl for a week or two, she had just broken off with her boyfriend 2 weeks prior, dunno if she has been with others since but she SAYS she was screened for all stds including hiv while with her man for her massage therapy job, and she was negative on everything including hiv.

however, i was a little unsure still that i could trust that she hadn't done anything sexual since her last boyfriend.

after meeting a few times, we layed in her bed, she got up to brush her teeth which worried me as i dont know her oral health. she layed with me and continued to make out. she then goes down and puts her lips around the head and licks the tip of my penis for about 10 seconds, no more than this, when i tell her to stop. i am not sure whether there might have been a tiny amount of blood in her mouth after brushing. any thoughts/comments are appreciated.

be well :]

HIV is spread through penetrative vaginal and/or anal sex. It is not spread through receiving fellatio.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."

Tom, it wouldn't have mattered how much blood she had in her mouth. In the entire history of the epidemic no guy has ever confirmed to have been infected through receiving oral sex. It's safe to say you aren't going to make history by becoming the first.

As JK has pointed out to you, the only confirmed means of sexually transmitting HIV are through vaginal and anal intercourse. If you consistently use condoms for those activities you will be well protected.

You are worrying needlessly.

that's what i thought but i was unsure. thanks guys, that does relieve me a little. i'll still go get tested again in 3 months though. i have tried to educate myself as much as possible, but many places seem to be misleading with information.

i wish you all the very best.

Of course you can test if you wish as long as you understand it's strictly for your peace of mind. Receiving oral is simply not a risk for HIV transmission. Period.

thank you, andy. i already had a baseline test done about a week after it happened on nov 14 which came back on all stds to be negative. that calmed me down a bit, and i realized that i was really over reacting even though that one week test isn't conclusive. i already worry needlessly and take medication for it, so it is no surprise to me that i am still filled with anxiety even though the risk i have presented is close to nothing as you and many others have stated on this site.

thank you for easing my mind though, it has helped. i will try not to bother you all any further, haha.

Fortunately fears and doubts aren't facts. The facts of the situation clearly indicate you were not at risk.

Cheers.

Tom,

Guess what mate, it's cold and flu season.

You don't need to post a final result - we can tell you right now that it's going to be negative.

You did not have a risk for hiv infection.

You got a NO RISK blowjob. Be grateful your friend was willing to put your penis in her mouth and get over this already.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.
