Donations for AMG 2007
« on: March 12, 2007, 08:00:18 pm »
Dear all...I will this post in a few threads as not everyone reads all of the forums.  Donations are still being accepted for AMG '07...With higher oil prices coming this summer it would be nice to get the ball rolling on people getting their reservations before too long.  Much like last year there has been a great deal of generosity so far, but unfortunatley that has been from a relatively small percentage of people here...I understand that many people have a very tight budget, that is not lost on the grants committee, but we could really use more donations from more of our good folks out there.

So if you can do so please PM grants committee and open up your wallets (or purses) if possible and thanks in advance for anything you can do...Some good peole who could not otherwise afford it will be very appreciative indeed !!!

Hey Jody:

I know how hard you guys are working on this and just want to acknowledge how amazing you are.  Your personal commitment to this project, which will hopefully result in many members being able to attend AMG, is incredible.

I don't know where the balance currently is, but hopefully anyone who wants to go but will need some help, will be able to come to San Francisco.

If everyone who could give $10.00 or $20.00 did so, by the time that all adds up it could make a big difference.  Heck $20.00 X 50 members equals $1,000.00That's pretty damn impressive!

Let's keep it going folks, whatever amount is affordable, when combined with the giving of everyone else, will be used to help as many members as possible.

Jody, Cliff, David NC, Gerry, and Robert, I hope what you guys are trying to do with this is a motivation to everyone here, who can,  to make a donation

Thank you Jody, RAB and Jan.

We've received several requests for assistance.  So far, we have about $2400 in donations and pledges.  We are anticipating needing about another $1000 to $1200 to accommodate most of these CURRENT requests.  Thanks to all who have donated or pledged so far.  To those who are planning to donate, thank you as well.

Also, if any member who is attending is willing to share his/her room with someone else, please let us know.  If you wish to split the hotel bill, and have the Grants Committee pay for half of it (September 13-17 dates only) if it's used for a grantee, that might be able to help us out as well.  If you wish to share your room and not charge the person you would share it with, that would help even more.

The success of the Grants Committee depends mostly on the collective work of members.  Thanks so much and have a nice day.

Gerry

Do remember everyone that if there is anyone you might want to nominate to attend to send a PM to the Grants committee...All requests will of course be considered.
