What is your advise
« on: November 16, 2009, 02:55:45 pm »
Got  drunk.  Had a blow job by an African woman I met for the 1st time, not a sex worker, or so I think.  This happened in the US, DC area.  I masturbated her.  She informed that she also takes it in the Anus, of which I also put my hands.  Had my hands in her vagina and anus for some time.  After which I washed my hands and penis with anti bacterial soap.  On chatting she informed me that she had anal sex with others.  I also noticed that there has been a white discharge from her vagina.  She had scars around her body from losing weight, seems as though she was very overweight and must have lost quite some pounds.  I ask her how she lost the weight and she responded mostly from walking.  At this point, I called a cab and she was gone.  This happened on Oct 9, 2009.  On Nov 3, 2009 one of my co workers came down with a nasal congestion.  On Nov 9, 2009 I had a fever for 1.5 days, some tenderness in my mouth, some shooting signals under my arm, neck and groin on an off for a few days, now all gone.  No physical swelling of lymph nodes.  During all this time I have been engaged in heavy beer drinking, not sleeping well and of course responding to work as usual.  I have been frequenting pubs, some packed with people.  Some of my co workers also reported to have the cold and flu like symptoms around the same time and up to a week ago.  Some are still recovering.  It is flu season, I know.  Also, I am feeling some pain in my groins when walking, not sure if that is from the four pounds I gained over the past month.  I also started physical conditioning in all of Sep 2009 and stopped right after the incident and started beer drinking thinking that I may have become infected.  What are the chances that I may have contracted HIV?

Just to mention, no intercourse vaginal or anal.  When the fever did came it was recorded in the AM after sleeping it out at 100.2.

The bottom line in all of your details is what you left for your second entry, namely that there wasn't any vaginal or anal intercourse. Those are the only two unprotected activities confirmed as being the means of transmitting HIV sexually.

The risk of everything else is strictly theoretical. Nothing that you did and are now worrying about put you at risk for transmission. Whatever caused or is causing  your symptoms has nothing to do with HIV.

As long as you consistently without exception use condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse you will be well protected in terms of sexual risk for HIV.

There's no need for further concern nor for testing for HIV.

Cheers.

Thanks, this certainly calls for a few beers and then back to normal life.

Make sure that "normal life" includes no casual sex when drinking excessively and always using condoms for intercourse.

Cheers.

Beginning of December Spouse came down with flue like symptoms, lasted a week.  A week ago spouse came down with little raised red bumps on back, arms, legs and very itching.  She went to doctor got steriods etc prescriptions.  Took the dosages and rash or went away almost the same evening and then completely in a few days.  She still complains of itching.

I never told her of my situation and yes, I took your advice that HIV is not the issue and continued with our sex life as regular.

I continued to have slight shooting pains in my groin areas and under arms and sometimes behind lower ears.  I can feel that my glands are swollen in my groin area when I sleep flat face.
I have been reading for many hours the various issues and your replies to them and it is what has been keeping me in a normal frame of mind and helping me to get on with my days in a normal fashion, which is putting the HIV possibility behind me.

I believe that I may have contracted some type of  STD such as hepatitis.  I noticed that a few weeks after the incident on OCT 9, 2009 that I was passing a coke colored urine which is one of the signs of Hypatisis, along with the rest that I have had and my spouse currently is experiencing.

Here is a cut and paste from the web on Hepatitis.
****start of cut and paste****
Signs and symptoms of hepatitis A
It is possible to experience mild or no symptoms whatsoever, but even if this is the case the person’s faeces will still be infectious to others. Many people who become infected with HAV will have symptoms that include:
•   a short, mild, flu-like illness.
•   nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
•   loss of appetite.
•   weight loss.
•   jaundice (yellow skin and whites of eyes, darker yellow urine and pale faeces).
•   itchy skin.
•   abdominal pain
The infection usually clears in up to 2 months, but may occasionally recur or persist longer in some people. Once a person has been infected and their body has fought off the virus they are permanently immune. Occasionally symptoms may be severe and require monitoring in hospital.

Signs and symptoms of hepatitis B
Many people who become infected with HBV experience mild symptoms or no symptoms at all, but they may still carry the infectious virus and pass it on to others. When symptoms do appear they are similar to those of hepatitis A and may include:
•   a short, mild, flu-like illness.
•   nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
•   loss of appetite.
•   weight loss.
•   jaundice (yellow skin and whites of eyes, darker yellow urine and pale faeces).
•   itchy skin
Signs and symptoms of hepatitis C
Many people do not experience any symptoms when they become infected with hepatitis C. Symptoms may emerge later, taking anywhere between 15 and 150 days to develop. Occasionally a person will not develop any symptoms and their immune system will successfully clear the virus without their knowledge. An infected person without symptoms can still act as a carrier and pass the virus on to others.
Symptoms may include:
•   a short, mild, flu-like illness.
•   nausea and vomiting.
•   diarrhoea.
•   loss of appetite.
•   weight loss.
•   jaundice (yellow skin and whites of eyes, darker yellow urine and pale faeces).
•   itchy skin
****end of cut and paste****

Yesterday, Dec 23, I went for a full STD panel test and will have the result back after the new years.

Pending the results I am thinking that I may have contracted some type of hepatitis.  I am still passing stools in a loose fashion.  The color of my stools has been on the light yellow and loose for the past month, but that really says nothing until the test results are in, I know.

Past History:  I went astray about four years ago and had unprotected sex with an escort.  I tested at the end of three months for a complete panel of STDs and all came back negative, excepting Herpes Type II, of which I contracted over twenty years ago in my teens.  I had all the fears and psychological symptoms, along with depression before the test and then after the test all went away.  Then again for good measures I retested at six months and HIV was negative.

On Oct 9, 2009 I went astray as this discussion thread shows from the beginning, that of receiving oral and me fingering in both vagina and anal.  I did attempted to master bait myself after the fingering and then washed up my hands and penis with soap.  I did notice on my right thumb about two weeks later a small infection under the nail and attributed it to an overgrown nail into the skin infection, of which I have never had in my life.   This along with the coke like color urine, has let me to think that I did picked up some sort of infection and what confirmed it is my spouse reactions to symptoms.

What is leading me to believe that none of these symptoms are HIV related is your strong stand on the subject matter of only being passed via unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse.   I wish to thank each of you for keeping me in a healthy frame of mind through these past weeks and I do hope to come back with some good results, that is, HIV negative.

I have not ruled out the possibility that this could also be syphilis.  I now, yes, all my self diagnosis is up in the air, pending the STD panel results.

All this is just guesswork. We can't diagnose anything here and our focus is strictly on HIV, which has been eliminated as being a matter of concern.

So you need to get the results of that STD panel and find out if you have an STD or if something else is causing your various symptoms. Which despite your fears and anxiety is perfectly possible.

For sure it's not HIV.

Good luck with getting this problem properly sorted out.

Cheers.

Receiving Oral and Fingering

Andy, actually I tested on the 22nd.  They just emailed and said the results are in and for me to call their Counselr.  I walked down to a private phone boot and made the call.  All the test came back negative excepting for Herpies Type I and II, of which I knew of for the past 20 years.  They tested for Hepatitis B & C: negative
Clamidia: negative
HIV (HIV-1 Antibody by ngyme immunoassay (EIA) with Reflex to Western Blot Confirmation): test is for HIV-1Ab: Negative
Herpes Simplex 1 & 2 Positive
Chlamydia: negative
Gonorrhea: negative
Syphilis (RPR, Rfx Qn/Confirm TP-PA): negative

Just for the readers, I have herpes healed sores on my penis head and around the head, the healed spots are new skin, years old, yes.  The blow job from person of unknown HIV status as for a million times stated by this forum administrators are of no risk for HIV infection.

Please listen to the Forum moderators, they are the HIV Scientists and please take their advise seriously.

Andy, a happy holidays to you.

Cheers.

That's great about all of those negative results. It's a very happy way to end an old year to begin the New.

Cheers and best wishes!
