Anyone in Costa Rica/Nica/Panama?
« on: September 17, 2007, 10:50:26 am »
Hey all!  I am going to be in Costa Rica for the next few months, maybe more.  Anyway, I have lived in Costa Rica for many years, but not with HIV.  Is there any poz members around this part of the world... do you know any programs/dr.s or what the social percptions of HIV is in Central America.  I have yet to see a Dr. and need to soon, I wanted to do it CR, or if you need a friend that is in the same boat, I can do that too.  I like to travel a lot and need to seperate myself from my "old' life.  I am afraid to tell anyone in CR as it is a small place and people talk too much.   Anyway, hope to hear from someone

Hi TT,

You may be able to find something by going to the aidsmap searchable database organisations world wide. You don't have to fill in all the search boxes, just the country one.

Hope that helps!

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
