I need to talk with someone
« on: August 26, 2006, 12:20:04 pm »

I have read de lesson and I know my risk exposure is near to non existant, the problem is that It is happening very strange things and I now very worried, I can not continue in this way, in 2 days I am going to take a test after 10 weeks of the incident and I am waiting only for some hopely words...

The exposure basically was: I meet a women about 45, I was very drunked that night because I have gone out with friends, we have deep kissing and I masturbate her until she got de climax and lick her nipple then I began to masturbate myself with the same hand, she lick my neck and ear, them I refused to continue having sex and I have not complete sex with her, I am sure of this althougt I was very drunked and I went to my home...

The problem is that I have couple and always make love without condoms, then exactly 15 days after make love with my girlfriend she had one day with vomits and diarrea and feel mareos, she had no high fever and the next day was  ok again....

... after this day I have been stressed and now has beggining to appear some red patches in my skin in several parts of my body and I am very worried so I only hope that I am not going the first in being infected by such a low risk exposure I can not carry with the guilty of infect the person that I love. I wait for your words.

Thanks in advance my friends.

You don't get HIV from anything you have brought to this forum. Please take time to read the "Welcome" thread.

You did not have vaginal sex with the woman so you were not at risk. What ever is going on with your girl friend is not from what you did with the other woman.

No test is needed provided the information you've given in your first post is correct.

is correct, I masturbated her over the jeans, I dont know if enought fluids was in my hand when I began to masturbate myself for only a seconds, then I refuse to continue. I am sure there was no intercourse, we was on the street and I did not want to go home with her so we gone to our houses alone each one.

You did not have any risk of HIV infection from this encounter.   There are several other STDs which are much easier to transmit than HIV, fortunately most of those are easily curable with antibiotics - however from this encounter you risk of those was quite small as well.

Symptoms have nothing to do with HIV and you're not qualified to diagnose symptoms anyways - if she's feeling ill have her see a doctor - there's lots of cold and flu viruses going around all the time.

one las thing that I donīt understand of the advice given here. When there is a vaginal intercourse without eyaculate, why is still more risky for the famale if she donīt come in contact with infected fluids, in this case I supost the only that is exposed to potencial infected fluids is the man.

I coment that because the intercourse with my girlfriend was withouth eyaculate then I supost the risk for her was not very hard.

Expect your opinion

Jesus, nothing you have reported of the activity outside of your relationship was in anyway risky for HIV.

Assuming that was the only "risky" incident in your mind, then you can't give your gf a virus you don't have. There really isn't even a need for testing in relation to the incident unless you need the inevitable negative result to put your mind at ease.

What we're talking about here is guilt. You're connecting having strayed with some symptoms your gf had which had absolutely nothing to do with HIV. Nada. None. And there's no basis in HIV science for you to be concerned.

You may not be planning to stray again but if you do and you have intercourse then you must make certain to always use a condom. No exceptions. Oral and masturbation are only theoretically risks for transmission. In reality it never happens that way.

Feeling guilty is poisonous in a relationship so you need to take a breath, accept what you did and let it go. Then get on with your life. This is not an HIV situation. Period.

Cheers,
Andy Velez

Thanks Andy, really I agree with you about the guilty playing here, the problem is that when symptoms appear is hard time to carry on with feeling guilty. I used to donate blood so I supost that I leave past some time and donate again to be totally sure and move on with our lives. Sincerously I needed your words, thanks again.

Jesus, you've already been told repeatedly that you had nothing to worry about in terms of HIV.

However, I want to say that donating blood is not a cool way to find out that you're HIV negative. Hopefully you will not have unprotected intercourse and put yourself at risk by doing that. But anytime you have real doubts about your HIV status the only reliable and responsible way to address that is to have an HIV test at the appropriate time. The CDC says 13 weeks after any risky incident.

Also, there are other STDs out there which are much easier to catch than HIV. So if you're sexually active you should regularly have a full STD panel done just as a precaution. Annually is good and every six months is even better.

This time out I don't see any cause for concern about HIV.
