Ladies I thought this deserved a thread of its own, If this doesn't take your mind off your problems..... Apparently there is a man who made a video on YouTube about the women HE INFECTED with the HIV virus AND LIST THE NAMES AND WHY HE DID IT. This man is scum and I hope it is true that he is captured and giving life in prison. Ironically it is a wake up call also to women having unprotected sex ,if you dare to watch go to youtube and type in "aids trash man" to see the video.

I did a little poking around earlier today and it seems that many are of the opinion that this guy was doing some sort of "humourous" "public service" announcement. It seems he wants to get people's attention by freaking them out. He also seems to have a reputation for "dark" humour - and he's also allegedly a bit of a porn star/legend. (probably in his own mind...

)

If that's true about it being an attention getting device, I still think he's an A-1 asshole. Some sense of humour. Jerkwad.

I showed it to my SO and he said the same thing, that the guy was just messing around BUT why would he say the things about the women like he did? If he wanted to help them, why make them feel worse? He totally went about it the wrong way if that was what he really wanted to do.

Modified to reflect that I was criticized for wanting to prosecute the man who knowingly infected me. I posted asking for advice and was flamed.

The great thing is...the case is proceeding and I met a wonderful man as a result of this site. So the flame was worth it.

Fraid, I can't recall where you posted about wanting to prosecute the man who infected who you. Was it here in our women's forum? If it was, I highly doubt anyone 'flamed' you.

Dragonette you are correct as are you wishful.

Rather than make a pariah of HIV positive people as it was suggested I was doing, I have taken positive steps towards educating myself, my friends and my family. I want to make something good of this - being an advocate and activist is a way to do that.

I do believe that prosecuting HIV+ individuals who DELIBERATELY infect others is acceptable. The laws are written so that it takes a great deal to prove this and so it should be. Very few cases are actually prosecuted because the victim is too ashamed to follow through even though there is more than enough evidence.

A predator is a predator, some of them just happen to have HIV. Does that mean we should just let them continue?

I have only been here for a short while but I mostly stick to here - as I think the women here understand where I am at - and if I do post on the rest of the forums I take everything said with ' a pinch of salt' to use an English expression

One thought in retrospect - did everyone replying to you know you were a woman ?? I think maybe not.

But maybe?probably I am out of order so suggest that maybe assumptions about your gender came into the response - it should not have made a difference to how you were responded to - but reading through after the event I think in this case it may have !! Not quite sure - just from first reading ...................

but I think it was all a misunderstanding as Ann and others have been very supportive to me and so many others.....................

But feel for your situation - as while my man did not deliberately infect me and he probably did not know he had it

-I would not accept I was party to my own infection with HIV - in my case for different reason from yours

i.e when the man who infected me was the man I had been with for over 25 years and married for 21 and had pregnancies and a child with and I had long reached the menopause!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( I still am with him and he is my daily support, best friend and lover)

Why would I think I needed to use condoms!!!!!!!! What reason would I have to think I was taking any sort of risk having unprotected sex with him? What reason would I have to think I needed to protect myself with safer sex? or even think this were necessary or to think that he had had sex with anyone else!!!!!!!!!!!

Not quite the same as your situation, but I believed I had an 'implicit' understanding with my husband that there was no need for condoms - and you believed an explicit lie ............I can not see that either of us actually 'complied' in our infection??

Though I am sure this will come off badly to some I must say I don't think the thread came off as flaming until Ann's post was responded to in a defensive way.

Your partner absolutely had no right to conceal his being positive. But I believe the consensus on the previous thread was that until a person has concrete proof that their partner has had a couple of negative HIV test and is in a monogamous relationship when you choose to have sex without protection you share some of the blame.

But like I said before I agree he absolutely has no right to knowingly have sex without protection, if he is aware he is HIV positive. That is criminal behavior in my opinion.

Thank you very much for the support and welcome Winiroo and Veritee.

I have grown by leaps and bounds over the last few months. I was able to attend a conference "Positive Living" and finally meet someone else who was HIV+ face to face. I am going to be an Ambassador for Dining out for Life tomorrow night and I'll be going to a retreat the first week of May that is sponsored by our local outreach agency.

I really want to make a difference and I have a great group of friends who are encouraging me and supporting me in my endeavors. I've come "out" to a lot of people - one day maybe I'll be brave enough to tell everyone. I really believe stigma is the biggest factor in overcoming the spread of the disease.

I like the women's forum...think I will hang out a while.

Dragonette - I was asked questions and I answered them honestly because that is who I am. As for my previous actions, there is no good excuse - it was plain stupidity. That does not change or excuse the fact that he was positive and knew it.

I'm not here to argue. My work as an "Ambassador" tonight simply helps to raise money for the organization that has done so much to help me. The people I speak with aren't going to ask if I'm actually positive, they aren't going to ask my story and they aren't going to ask if I specifically represent you.

I saw the video on Youtube and it is really messed up for this low life to boast about this!!! It is good that he has been captured and is doing life in prison....this person has no regard for a persons life!! Just because he is infected doen't give him the right to go and infect others!!
