Once again this year, I am so glad I left OH and moved to SC (well, not all that glad; but I'm looking for the silver lining, you know). It's been pleasantly warm here, so much that I've already got the pool up and in been the water (eek! it's still chilly at 72) every day for 3 days. That's a whole week sooner than last year.

I sure don't miss blizzards or 30 degree temp changes within an hour. And it's hard to have allergy issues to anything when everything, including the inside of my lungs, is nicely coated in a fine yellow film of pine pollen.  ::) :D

Possibly 4 more inches of rain in louisville today.  Flood gates are up.  Since last Friday we have had over 5inches of rain and thus far for the month of April over 11 inches.  This is one time when more inches is really not what you want!!!

It was so windy in Birmingham yesterday, we could hardly hold the car on the road!  Today is predicted to be much worse, weather-wise.

ps: just returned from a lovely breakfast of cheddar grits with scrapple... you girls have scrapple down yonder? It's an Amish delicacy.

down here in the Carolinas we have something similar called "livermush". Too be honest, a package of livermush was the first thing I purchased at the grocery store after moving back down here, along with a 2-liter of Cheerwine.

and speaking of grits, that's another good reason to be back down here. Nobody looks at me funny when I order them in a restaurant anymore. One local restaurant mixes them up with cream cheese and serves them up with the biggest, fluffiest biscuits I've ever seen. Yum!

Some of the mountain lakes look like dust bowls.
Now the mountains are catching on fire.  Quite rare, though there have been droughts before, but in April?  The roses started blooming a few weeks ago.

Wow - make sure you stay safe -
if one does hit near you, at least you can have one less thing to worry about knowing that you have a back up supply of meds..... of course, if Martians fly out of the tornado you may be in trouble....  I'm just sayin...
