IMW,

Has your positive test result been confirmed with a Western Blot test? Have you had other lab tests done to find out where your health stands in relation to your hiv?

If you have been confirmed hiv positive, let me know. If you have, you've posted this in the wrong forum. I can move your thread into the I Just Tested Positive forum, which is the more appropriate place for it.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

In that case, welcome to the forums, IMW. Sorry you have the need to be here, but I'm glad you found us.

I've moved your thread into the I Just Tested Poz forum, which is the more appropriate place for it.

Do you know any of your numbers yet? By this I mean your CD4 counts and your viral load (often written in these forums as VL).

Your headaches could be caused by the stress of being recently diagnosed with hiv. Have you discussed the headaches and pain you're experiencing with your doctor?

If you had to end up with hiv, 2012 is a good time because the meds have improved so much. Hiv is no longer a death sentence provided you are regularly monitoring your health with an hiv or infectious disease specialist, and go on meds when your number indicate the need.

Please let us know a little more about yourself (numbers etc). And feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Hang in there, it does get better. The early days of diagnosis are hard for us all, so keep reaching out to us. We understand.

Hugs,
Ann
