She's a bit wretched, though there are some great David Morales mixes of her earlier stuff.  Every homosexual should own the remixes of "Dreamlover".  As stated earlier the Clivilles & Cole mixes of "Make it Happen" are fierce.  Also love the Morales mixes for "My All" but as far as complete album ownership it's an endeavor I must simply pass on.

Also, I have a couple of friends who have had personal professional run ins with Miss Scarey and evidently she's not all that pleasant.  In fact one of them was for a $500 hair coloring and she showed up two hours late and then threw a fit at the quite posh Garren NY salon at Henri Bendel and they told her to leave.

Wow...I often wonder how you know what you know but that's what makes you Miss Philicia and ever SO fierce...Not really a big Mariah fan myself.

Like Philly I seriously love her remixed stuff (and some of her non-dance singles like "Breakdown" and her cover of "Without You").

As far as albums go I must admit that I own her first two records.  The first one had that classy and fabulous melodrama called "Vanishing" (I'm sure that's a drag queen's dream) and the second one had some great stuff produced by Clivillés and Cole ("Emotions," "You're So Cold," and "To Be Around You" are what good pop records in the early 90s were all about).  After that she tried to gain R&B/hip-hop credibility and I was not too convinced by some of her releases.

She is a total ditz, and that's what I sort of like about her. If she is bitchy she has known how to keep it from being part of her public persona (unlike her supposed nemesis, Jennifer Lopez, who is clearly a self-absorbed diva).

Personally out of the whole Whitney vs. Mariah thing of the 90's. Mariah prevailed. The things that she does in the studio are just amazing.

Oh, and let's not forget Mariah's little freak out episode where she stomped on all her mother's dishes and got carted off to the psych ward.

I thought Tommy Mottola or whatever his name is, was the cause of her breakdown. And didn't she have more than one? Curious minds wants to know....And you Miss Thang is in the know, school me.. ;)

Was that the "debacle" (as she herself dubbed it) when she started distributing popsicles (or some other type of suck-on-it sweet treat) on TRL and then nearly stripped naked --Carson the idiot Daly had to remind her that this was a kids show?

Or was it her hilarious 'Cribs' episode (what a dreadful show) where she gets in the bathtub high heels on and everything?

And I bet that there are many more daft moments and moves elsewhere in her career.

Here's the report in 2001:

http://www.livedaily.com/news/3619.html

It briefly mentions the dishes during the first breakdown.  Seems she had two after Glitter flopped that year.

Actually the one that caused her to end up in the looney bin was Mexican ultra-boring singer Luis Miguel. He tends to date celebrities, fatten them up, and then dump'em like week old trash.  I never understood that relationship.  It was probably just a publicity stunt trying to introduce Mariah to the Latin American market.

Her album Butterfly is a masterpiece. I hope everyone can agree with this.  ;)
