what about high blood pressure
« on: July 17, 2011, 10:17:04 am »
I tested Poz and started HAART two months ago and after one month of starting HAART i felt  pain in the rear area of my head .
Today i talked to my doctor and he carried out some tests and he found that i have high blood pressure (140/90) , and he advised me to start  medication for blood pressure ( for the rest of my life)
I am very depressed , Do u think HAART lead to high blood pressure? do u think it because i am on stress all the time i got high blood pressure? do u i have to test again ?
BTW i am on ( Combovir and Kaletra) i dont take any other medications with them.

Thanks

i always had normal bp. like around 120 over whatever. when i was dx'd a year ago that top number shot up to 140-160 for my first appts. we figured it was due to the stress of the situation and didnt sweat it. as things in my life normalized with this thing my bp has resumed to the 120 range.so i say give it time to digest this situation your in and see if it normalizes to before dx numbers.

How old are you?  Why does it bother you so much to have to take blood pressure medicine? Regardless of the  cause (ie: stress, meds, your age) it is high.
