Miss Lily never responded to any otc treatment for fleas  I finally took her to vet and he prescribed Comfortis.

 http://www.comfortis.com/Default.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

It's a once a month pill and cost about $15.  It worked immediately and I gave them to her regularly through flea season.

Fleas are miserable.  Years ago I inherited a cat (from my niece) that was inundated with them.  The vet told me dipping and baths do not help as the fleas will go to the eyes (ick).  It was a grueling process getting rid of them because of course my apartment was infested after the kitty being there one day prior to getting treated.

I remember having to bomb, and having to leave the apartment for a few hours, having to wash everything etc.   Good luck, Michael.  I sympathize.

Thanks everyone, pretty sure I got them early, got a pill and back off the neck treatment, Mia after 12 hours is is scratching much less.

She did do a I st on her walk. I got a telephone call 7pm telling me they had Mia at there house playing with there dogs. She was found sitting outside there front door, in a road off Clapham Common where friend Mark was walking her.
When I got to the Common 3/4 voices where shouting MIA < so Mark was Quickly found and put out off his misery.

When I finally got to the house, a very excited Mia had the run off the place , spoilled rotten .Going back to them today with flowers and the news that she was infested with fleas , which I somehow forgot to mention last night.

The road she crossed is about as busy as they get.

How frightening , I bet you were relieved to get her home safely .

Zita used to be really good about understanding where the boundaries were once I told her not to go past a point in the yard , she would go up to that point and look back at you like she was saying I know . I turned my back once only for a moment and she ran into the highway . The sound of a car with locked up breaks is what got my attention as she was missed by less than a foot by the car .

I grabbed her by the collar and screamed at her , for a long time . She had never done anything to get into trouble before and it crushed her that I reacted that way , but she never disobeyed me again . After that if you ever grabbed her collar she would take high offense and insult and get in bed to sulk or if we were outside she would go to the door and stand there till she was let in .

This post of mine is self indulgent but I'm still missing her every day , life isn't the same without her by my side .
