which way is the dancer turning?
« on: October 08, 2007, 11:15:10 pm »
clockwise or counterclockwise?

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

totally counterclockwise for me.
When I first saw it, it was clockwise for just a second, and then switched to counterclockwise.
I can't even see the clockwise now.

Clockwise. I'm right-left integrated.

Guess what?
That's Angelina Jolie.

Yep. Look at that facial profile and lips.

Know what she's doing?
She spinning on her maternal axis
using her right leg as a compass needle
to point to the country from which she'll adopt next.

I saw her going counter-clockwise for a good ten seconds, then quickly looked at the post under the pic for a split second.  When I looked back, she was going clockwise.  I am right-handed, but count money like a lefty.  I have always used both sides of my brain, we women have a corpus callosum, which is why we can multi-task so well!   :D

I tried my best to see her spin counter clockwise to no avail. I'm supposed to be a left-brained person, so that doesn't compute.

Then stop thinking of what you see as a correctly sequenced set of images showing a single continuous 360 degree rotation.  ;)

I am right brained and see the image turning clock-wise.  However, I can visually change the direction of that image.  I used to do an excercise with potential clients and put all the right brained people on the right side of the room and the left, on the left.  Which side of the room do you think the CFO sat on vs. COO?  Have the best day

I thought she was stepping forward, honestly.  It looks like there's a bit of stagger in her step, but it's not turning for me.  Does that mean I have both left and right tenancies (versatile?) or no brain?

:) This was driving me batty, ever since this morning, when I first seen it. Could only get the counterclockwise direction.I just woke up and decided to view it again. This time it was clockwise.  I can now put her in either direction by focasing on the bottom most shadow.
Just blink the eye, and I get the other direction. coolll ! :)

I thought she was stepping forward, honestly.  It looks like there's a bit of stagger in her step, but it's not turning for me.  Does that mean I have both left and right tenancies (versatile?) or no brain?

I'm blinking i'm blinking but she still goes clockwise. Does that mean I'm total bottom?

She's spinning up a storm counter-clockwise (anti-clockwise) for me. I definitely fall into the left brain functions - describes me spot-on (with one exception - the "safe non-risk-taking" part - I do have a risk-taking streak).

Pretty cool though...

Tonight initially she was going clockwise when I looked, different from when I first saw her yesterday.  If I concentrate I can get her to go counter-clockwise, too.

Mostly clockwise tonight, though.  I must be feeling creative.....

Yes, perhaps if there was a male version I could get him to go one way or the other, this one is flip-flopping too much!

Shit, she wasn't moving on any pc's we use (work and home) earlier.  I just Ctrl-refresh'ed and now she's moving!  I really thought all you were just seeing things... maybe you all aren't so weird after all!   ;)  Either that or the Sustiva and Adderall just now are in the right proportions to mildly hallucinate!

Now, as to which way she's turning... it's counter clockwise.  I can 'force' her to turn the other way, if I look at the foot (the one in the air) and 'see' how it would look if she were going clockwise, but it doesn't feel natural seeing it that way!  Plus, it looks like she'd be less balanced turning clockwise.  So, it seems that I'm left-brained with right tenancies.  Tim, I guess I'm not so versatile or brainless after all, but that's probably not much of a surprise, either!

David

edited to add that I still can't see her move in Firefox.  I guess IE 6 is still the compatibility champ, after all!

I bet the real corilation is simple.  If you masterbate with your left, she spins right and visa versa??  Does that work ???

She is driving me crazy...when I look directly at her she is going clockwise, if I look off to the side, she is turning counter clockwise, the minute I look back at her, she spins clockwise again!  :-\
