Winter has finally arrived
« on: December 10, 2012, 09:32:58 am »
While I have enjoyed the temperate weather, it hasn't been terribly wintery.

That changed yesterday. We had a front move through, coming with wind gusts of 30 mph and dropping temperatures by 20 t0 30 degrees, depending on where you live.

This morning, it is a brisk 3 degrees F. (-16.1 Celsius)

Not much in the way of moisture, but at least winter has let us know it has arrived.

HUGS,

Mark

3 degrees F is so very cold, Mark. Take care of yourself. I've encountered such temps a few times in life but that's about it. We don't usually see anything that low but high teens. But then you're at a much higher elevation than I am. And, of course, it's worse with the wind.

I am so waiting for bunches of snow.  We didn't get enough last year to play in.  I love building huge forts around  bonfires and having a nice outdoor, winter time party.

It was warm here and very rainy in the last week.  Now, it's cold.  We got nine inches of rain this past week.  I dumped out over two inches, before our rain gauge collected this.  This would have been a lot of snow, if we had today's temps.  They say we could get a good snow around Christmas.

Modified to say I want this:
