Writers for NY and Miami phoning it in......
« on: February 28, 2007, 11:37:50 pm »
Am I the only one who's become rather tired of the cheesy writing on CSIs NY and Miami?

I was an avid CSI fan and watched all three shows regularly.......but,
When did the writers decide that all viewers were idiots needing everything over-explained with some nonsensical exposition...."What's up Eric?"
"I'm waiting for a hit on the prints from the crime scene."
"That'll link the suspect to the crime scene."
  ......no $HiT!
It's like watching Ernie and Bert explain criminal science to 3rd graders!
Miami is the worst by far, though.  Horatio's campy remarks with the untimely repetition is so unnerving, I quit watching it all together.........while standing over the corpse, pulling off his shades and putting his hand on his hips, the camera wides out to....."Not for him, Frank, not for him."

The writing's gotten so bad that they make the actors look like hacks.  Only a great actor like Gary Sinise can pull it off.

Seriously, watch an episode of Miami or NY and ignore:
- all over-done exposition (stuff no two scientists would say to each other unless it was "bring your daughter to work day")
- all repetition
- all the overly righteous, indignant talk to suspects
- and cheesy one-liners
you'd have an entire script consisting of little more than a few sentences and several approving grunts.

So, tell me.....Am I the only one who feels this way?

That's exactly the reason why I don't watch CSI.

I think Horatio should quit his job and become a stripper.  Skeebo would be his first customer!!!
LIFE is not a race to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well-preserved body, but, rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW! WHAT A
RIDE!!!

AlanBama,
Is there something you and skeebo would like to share with the group?  Remember we don't judge here in cyberspace:)

Anyone know (I'm too lazy to search) what the ratings are like for the CSI clones and the various incarnations of Law & Order? (I'm a big fan of L&O too, aupointillimite)
