Need a new job...
« on: February 05, 2010, 01:29:04 pm »
Please remind me why in the world I every took a job where I have to work out in this crappy weather.  The high for today is 33 and it's been snowing/ sleeting/ raining since before I woke up this morning.  Maybe I could just transfer to Florida where it's warm all the time.  Does anybody have any ideas as to the effects the cold weather will have on me, being HIV+  and all?

I guess I shouldn't complain since there are alot of people out there without jobs or unable to work.  But damn it's cold!

Sorry, needed to vent! :)

Hey Brooke!
I feel for you! There are days here I wish I could just stay in bed and not have to go to work because its so cold and windy outside. ...But I must pay the bills...so I dress warm, paste a smile on my face and step out...and it works.

For me no major health issues as a PLWHA in cold Canada...Once a winter I catch a cold ( I am recovering from one now)...but then lots of negative people living in cold countries also get the usual winter cold. So I dont dwell on it.

I do know for sure we are more susceptible because of our compromised immune systems, but then I believe keeping warm and having a positive attitude will get us through the bad weather.

Cheers!
K.
Take it a day at a time....and be positive about it too!

Hey Brooke, I'm right there with you. I have to work weekends too. I don't think the cold affects my HIV but I know because I have grade 4 lipoatrophy I don't have a lot of insulation and get cold quickly. I'm like a tremulous chihuahua dog.
