Good News To Share...
« on: November 16, 2007, 02:19:32 am »
Hey everyone,

You may have read my post a couple months ago called My Story/First Numbers, I was shocked because my first bloodwork was CD4 260 / VL 80,000 which I thought was low for a first test, my doctor told me they were not concerned as it was so soon after turning poz. He did give me a couple pneumovax vaccine injections, they were rough! I had a hard muscle bump at the injection site that was really warm and a fever the next night because obviously my body was a little busy making antibodies before these pneumovax guys showed up...I really like my doctor and know that he had my best interests in mind for this though.

So now onto the good news today, a month after my first bloodwork, I went to the doc to receive the second bloodwork. I have to admit I was nervous because I wasn't sure if this bounceback thing was gonna happen. He then showed me the results: CD4 670 / VL 3100! I was very happy, probably the happiest day for me in awhile. :)  He also did a genotype/phenotype test and it came back as WildType with no resistance or mutations to antiretrovirals.

I take daily supplements from GNC of MegaMenMultivitamins, Triflex, & Omega3-6-9. One thing I added to my daily regimen is the mineral supplement Selenium. Research has shown that taking 200mcg per day naturally boosts CD4 cell production . The bottle is like $7.99 at GNC, even cheaper at other places. Look up the research and go get some!!!

Thanks for all your support on my last post, I will keep you updated

That's fantastic, congratulations!  :D

Goes to show you really cannot rely too much on the numbers in the period immediately after seroconversion...

Congrats on that happy turnaround in your numbers. Even though what it's kind of expected early on after a new infection, there's nothing like getting proof.

It sounds like you're taking good care of yourself with supplements and all as well.

Way to go!

Cheers,
Andy Velez
