Just really need some info and advice as to whether or not may have been at risk of catching HIV during a recent threesome session (3 guys).

Basically, and apologies for the graphic detail, but cannot think of any other way to describe what happened- I was one of two passive guys who were penetrated, back and forth a number of times, by the same active guy who did use a condom.  I know condoms very much reduce the risk from the active guy.  I am concerned that if the other passive guy was HIV+ , could I, in fact have been put a risk?  The top guy penetrated us both back and forth a number of times without changing the condom at any stage in between. 

Hope that makes sense and is not too graphic, but as i said could think of no other way to describe what happened.

Amy info would be much appreciated, i know the only way to know for sure is to have a test, but thought i would see what you guys think first.

This is a place where you can be as graphic as you need to be to make your situation clear. The only issue in relation to risk in the incident you're concerned about is whether the condom failed or not. And from what you have written it functioned without failing.

When a condom breaks it's not about itty bitty little holes as people often fear. It's quite clear what has happened because the whole thing ends up looking like a hoop with fringe on the penis.

So given that the guy had a condom during the back and forth anal intercourse I don't see any cause for concern about HIV nor any need for testing.

We do always advise anyone who is sexually active that other STDs are much easier to acquire than HIV. So having a full STD panel done at least once a year is a good idea.

But this time I don't see any problem for you in relation to HIV.  Just make sure a condom is used everytime for anal intercourse and you will be effectively protected.
