Hello everybody, I would like to know what you guys think about my risk, I'm really freaking out and I'm scared.
I decided to get tested today and I'll get my results on monday noon so I'll tell you guys about it..
Well I had unprotected sex with a girl on december 2003..after that i had diarrhea that lasted for more than 6 months, then sore throat for more than 3 months, i got tested (Elisa) on may 2005 which came back negative..now I'm scared i had this white stuff on my penis but it went away with a vaginal-cream i found also because my tongue is kinda white and it burns, also my palate, just right now I'm starting to feel my ears kind of weird so that's why i decided to get tested again so what do u guys think about my risk I'm really scared..

You're negative and didn't need to retest unless you have continued having unprotected sex after your last negative result.

thanks for responding rapidrod, i haven't had any unprotected sex since my negative result so i think i must be fine but i have so many symptoms im scared, i just can't sleep right now, i just threw up thinking about my results.

If you have reported accurately about not having had any additional risks then you will simply collect another negative test result this time.

You should be discussing your symptoms with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV.

No less importantly, you can have intercourse with whomever you choose to. Just do it following safer sex guidelines and always, without exception, use a latex condom. They provide very effective protection against HIV.

Some of your symptoms, you should discuss with a doctor, but it's not HIV. If you had a negative test result, there's no chance that you are positive unless you have had more unprotected sex since then.

I don't know about the white stuff (it sounds like a fungal infection, of sorts), but the diarrhea and the throwing up sound like you've got irritable bowel syndrome, due to the fact that you've worked yourself into a frenzy over what's more than likely going to be a negative diagnosis.

Andy's right. Unless you and your partner have both been tested (and have been in a monogamous relationship for six months or more), you should ALWAYS use a latex condom.

Do you smoke or have allergies? That could explain the sore throat. Smoking and post-nasal drip from allergies will make your throat hurt, particularly in the mornings.

I, personally, do not think that you are going to get a positive test, ESPECIALLY if the ELISA came back negative.

You're going to be fine.

well Im a couple of hours away of getting my results, i was feeling fine till right now, now im scared of going to get them but i'm going anyways, the lab is really close to my house but it will be the longest ride ever, i hope it comes out good im going crazy i didn't even go to school today because of this... well thanks people this forum is the best.

well i just got my test back it is negative,., i've had every single symptom that exists, from diarrhea, rash around nose sort of acne, sore throat, burning tongue and palate, white tongue, swollen nodes you name it but i tested negative..well right now im going to the gym..this forum is alot of help...well i'll tell you guys my story later, i think it could help people that think that ymptoms they read on-line indicates you have hiv, ive learned my lesson..thanks..

Congratulaions on that happy result! Celebrate by getting on with your life AND always, ALWAYS using a latex condom when you have intercourse.

Oh man what can I say, feeling the happiest man on earth?? what a great outcome!!. I am in similar situation right now, Im receiving my results tomorrow hoping for a good outcome as yours, but today I am totally scared to death of this uncertainty. I developed symptoms too still today at 7 weeks.

ok, here is the deal. unprotected sex on dec.2004, after that several symptoms occur, had a elisa test on june 2005 came out negative. then had anohter elisa test on oct 2006 that came out negative, hadn't had any intercourse since my last test.
Im afraid of having relationships with my g/f b/c im afraid i might be pos. but i think im losing my mind because i have symptoms like everyother week, now im having seborhea on my nose and chest and i read stuff on internet and makes it worse for me, i dont know what to think.

As long as you haven't had unprotected intercourse since you received your negative test result -- then you are HIV negative. Period. End of story.

Get on with your life.

well long story short - unprotected sex with a girl i met that same night on dec 2004 then never saw her again....elisa test may 2005 -neg and oct 2006 -neg...i know i think im crazy but since then ive only had protected sex w/ my girlfriend she was a virgin..mmm she got sick like 4 days ago with a fever..well today i have to go donate some blood and im scared i might have something i think they do test (elisa) before but im worried...

You don't have hiv. You've already tested conclusvely negative.

You can't give your girlfriend what you don't have. Besides, even if you were positive, condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection so you couldn't have given it to her during protected intercourse.

But you do not have hiv anyway.

Keep coming back here to question this same incident from years ago and you'll be given a time out. I suggest you seek therapy to get to the bottom of why you think you have hiv despite your negative test results. We cannot help you with that here.

I'm worried once again...

Well, I had an unprotected sex encounter on 2004, it was my first time and i think i did a really bad job didnt wear a condom, met the girl that same night, and since then I havent had a normal life, I did take 2 elisa tests in 2005 and one in 2006 and both came negative, but how reliable are they? i read on google that they dont specifically look for the hiv virus and well i live in Bolivia and how can i be sure this tests are 100% reliable, well anyways Ive been having bad diarrhea for over the pasts years, months well it comes and goes, i have diarrhea for a day or two goes back to normal and then 2 weeks later comes back, well anyways i have lost of couple of pounds.. (diagnosed with ibs by gastroentolgist) also have seb derm clears ups with creams but , once I google this, all of this links to hiv and all of this symptoms came after this unprotected sex encounter..this has me really worried. dont know what to do, i have a g/f (2 years now) and im really afraid i might have given her hiv.

The ELISA is the standard HIV test. I don't know what nonsense you have been picking up from Googling, but you have reliably tested negative for HIV. You are HIV negative.

As long as you consistently use condoms everytime you have vaginal or anal intercourse you will be well protected against the sexual transmission of HIV.

Get on with your life and cut out all this unnecessary drama. Your symptoms have nothing to do with HIV because you aren't HIV positive, no matter how your head tells you anything different. Discuss your symptoms with your doctor.
