Possible infection vaginal help

So took a while to come to posting this question as I have searched and hunted google continuously looking for a similar situation or answer.

So the situation.

I had vaginal sex  csw ( female unknown status hiv wise) throught the whole experience I had a condom fitted albeit a bit small. Covering more than half of the erect penis but not whole length.
Sex lasted till ejaculation. Condom still intact still covering at least 50% of the penis When I got home however I had noticed a small cut/nick on the shaft of my penis, at that time there was no visible blood.
To me it looked like a very small nail cut from fitting the condom or adjusting the length of it. By me or the partner ,

What I'm unsure of is I don't know if this area was covered by the condom during intercourse.

Reading up on vaginal secretions and transmission through cuts it seems to be general knowledge that hiv infection is very low/ none in the method but all of the cuts in question where days / weeks old and external to the vagina. This cut being fresh does this cause any more cause for concern ?


What if the cut part of my shaft had entered the vagina during intercourse is this a possible route of infection ?
The cut itself was very small 1mm-2mm max no pain or such like and when I did notice it had no blood but looked wet/healing.

Now I'm panicking and constantly thinking there's a chance I could have hiv ?
Should I be tested and a whole world of thoughts running through my head to the point I actually am making myself sick with worry.


Hopefully I can have some answers or advice on what to so next.
It has been 2 weeks since the experience shall we call it.

Hi Steph . The important thing was your penis glans was completely covered , the nick or scratch on your penis shaft would have had to be a significant cut that was openly bleeding and the sex pretty rough be considered a theoretical risk , meaning there have been no documented cases of HIV transmission in the manner that concerns you .

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME for this particular incident  anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

So even if it was a bleeding cut of significant size  ( what is classed as significant out of interest ? ) and with rough sex the risk would still only be theoretical not actually a proven method of transmission ?
Obviously I don't even know if the cut penetrated the vagina but there is a good chance of it,


There's so much copy and paste online regarding transmission that it can be off putting when actually trying to find a definitive or close to definitive answer.

A significant cut on your penis would be one where you apologies for making a bloody mess during intercourse if you could get past the pain of screwing with a bad cut on your dick . I have been poz 30 years and I have never heard of a case where HIV was transmitted in the manner you are concerned about ,

I know you want definitive but all I can say is if your penis was damaged and bloody enough to acquire HIV you would not have been having sex . HIV needs a certain type cells to latch onto such as found on the mucus membrane tissue at the tip of your penis and you had that covered with a condom , so it wasn't a risk .

Well this being my 3rd and last message on this subject just a little update.

Here the query, had sex with my wife and 1 week later she has started sweating in bed and feeling generally unwell.
I had a few days last week around day 6-8 I had flu like symptoms felt like I could barely move fever etc. to my understanding this would be too early for ARS but now that I have slept with my wife unprotected I have started to panic again.
Without going over and over and being told by yourself there was no risk in my encounter.i know you don't discuss symptoms but Is this all just coincidence ?

I'm actually really anxious and nerves are getting the better of me ,
I only slept with the wife unprotected after being told there was no risk.


I went for a full sexual health check including blood work but I think it would be too early to even show up in a test as it was just before the 2 week mark. Anti bodies and p24 test.

Am I worrying myself for nothing or does the first comments still stand ?

I'm sorry you are full of anxiety but my assessments stand , you never had a risk for HIV .

Perhaps part of your anxiety is from guilt , try to forgive yourself you will most certainly feel better .
