******************************************************************
Today is a very special day for me and for Cheech!  It was on this day, March 30, 1994, that I adopted Cheech from the animal shelter!  I got a new plush blue bone for him with a "peeper" in it, which he loves!  We are having a great morning together, and we are going to Iceman's for dinner tonight.

I have been working on a report to help me do a job description of my position at work.  The owner has hired an outside consultant to interview all of us to help us write our job descriptions.  Get this, this consultant said I am doing the work of at least two people!  Yeah, no shit, I say!  Things are going to be changing at the office in the next few months.  I can't wait, because I have been busting my ass while the rest of the accounting dept throws their grunt work at me or spends time socializing and leaving early.

Uh-huh, I LOVE it when I'm right!  Get ready, bitches, I say!  LOL

Queen, you need that sodium from soup or broth to replenish your system.  That's why its magical food!  ;)

BT, I have tried Lantus 2x over the past 10 years and each time I had a weird reaction to it.  It made me feel like I was on cold meds, all foggy in the head and sick to my stomach.  Very strange.  There is another 24-hour insulin that is out, which I may try after seeing my doc in a few weeks.

Me and my best buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   ;D    ;D    ;D    ;D
(The pic was taken yesterday, check out the dilated pupils, omg, lol!)

Evening ladies,

Germangirl, my dad passed away 2 weeks and 2 days ago.  My mum passed away 7 months prior to that.

Cin, love the picture of you and Cheech!  What a cute dog.  I can't really tell you have 'bug eyes' from the photo.  You both look good.

Netta, yeah, 'No Country...' is a great movie.  I hope you enjoy it.

The lunch with my sister went well.  Then I went to Meijer's and did grocery shopping.  I also bought 'Sicko' and Carlos Santana's 'Supernatural' CD.  I owned it before (on cassette) and love it.  He's so versatile and doesn't get near the recognition he deserves.

Anyway, my brother will be here in a couple hours.  Nothing else exciting going on.  I hope you all have a good evening.

just a really quick note to tell ya we're all still alive.  I've been up since 4:30 this morning.  I couldn't breathe - felt like someone was sitting on my chest.  Whatever this is, it's holding on for dear life.  I just can't kill it!  #6 is our wee little blonde, yes.  She just turned 4 on St. Patty's Day.  Our #5 turned 5 yesterday.  I'm running out of babies. :'(

Ok, gotta go!

Mum you better not be having a heart attack on us. Take care of yourself.

Cindy - beautiful picture. Your eyes look normal to me. and Cheech is a handsome fella.

I wear a size 10 - 12 too.

10's are sometimes a tad snug and 12's are too loose.
The only 11's I can find aren't for real women. They are for teenagers who haven't had a couple of babies and don't care if their who-ha and butt crack is nearly hanging out.

Win~  You crack me up with the blue jeans thing.  My 10's look illegal on me and my 12's look like I'm ready to go shuck corn with the farmer down the street, baggy and flapping on the thighs.

I found a new brand of Levi's (and trust me, I was NOT a Levi's girl) that have spandex in them so they are snug in the right places, but you can still move.  They even have tummy control!  Remember me raving about them a month ago or so?

Try the Levi's 512s "Perfectly Slimming" jeans.  They are awesome!!

You mean you didn't notice how BIG my pupils were in that pic?  OMG, I look like I'm on something, lol!  Thanks for the compliments on Cheech!  We just got back from Iceman's.  I hadn't seen him in a week since he had his kids for Spring Break.  OMG, I don't know how we survived without each other!

Mum~  Are you sure your illness isn't allergy related?  Maybe asthmatic allergies or something?  I am on allergy meds now for the first time in my life and it really makes a difference.  I hope you're doing ok tonight.

Germangirl~  Dogs are the BEST!  They are good for stress relief, lol!  :D

Sleep tight GFs.....Queen and Cristy, hope all is well since you're laying low tonight.....

Viv~ Right click on your picks and check the size ("k").  I think they have to be under 200 a piece to get on here.  If they are too big, you'll have to shrink 'em some.

~ Cindy

Evening Ladies---

Sorry if you guys were worried about me. I am feeling much better today. Me and the roomie cleaned and aired out the house today since it was such a nice day. It's going to be nice tomorrow so we will have the windows open again. My tummy seems to be much better, I scarfed down some steak, sauerkraut, and french fries for dinner. And just got out the tub a few minutes ago, I feel like a new woman. A friend of mine picked us up earlier and we hung out for a few. So, it turned out to be a pretty decent day.

Did I mention in the other thread that I spoke to a nurse and she said I probably did have a touch of food poisoning. I guess enduring the cramps was the worse part. Those bitches almost felt like labor pains, sheesh. But something is going on with my left ear. It's always something isn't it? I think it's probably my allergies kicking in or something. I could barely hear out of my ear with my hearing aid in so I took it out and put some ear drops in it since it may be wax build up. I need to schedule an appointment to get my ears cleaned out. I will have my primary doctor check my tummy when I see him on the 7th. I still have something that feels like lumps on the sides but notices them when I am full.

Betty-- I thought you would like American Gangster. I have never seen the Hurricane movie though.

Cindy-- Ohhhh about the boullion cubes and the salt. I am just not much of a salt person, I prefer pepper. I don't like Gatorade either, it tastes too sweet to me so I drink Vitamin Water. I am broke at the moment but I will pick up a few bottles on check day. And Cheech is adorable as always. And I did notice your eyes, one thing for sure, they won't say you look like you were high on weed!!!! ;D

Vivyt---Glad you figured out the pic thing. Nice pic of you too.

Netta-- Thanks for your concern. I am feeling much better but am still going to have my primary do a once over.

I heard my ASO actually had to fight to stay open last year. I hope they make it through this year or I am not sure what I am going to do. I would still keep my ID doc because I use to travel to his office before he started doing clinics at my ASO. He's too good of a doctor to lose. I guess that is about it for me for tonight. I'll check in later.

Late evening ladies-

Just a quickie.

Viv, I love your pics!  Your dog is soo cute and you're a very attractive young lady.  I can say that because I'm older than you are.

Mum, please take care of yourself.  If it doesn't get better by tomorrow, then do something, alright?

Cin, I love Levi's.  They are the most comfortable jeans (well, besides Lees) that I've found.  I get my pants at the Goodwill, so I doubt I wll be getting the ones you are talking about for awhile.

Queen, I'm so glad you're feeling better.  I had food poisoning once.  It was coming out both ends.  I don't think I was ever that sick and I was so happy when it passed.  Yeah, the ASO here is having a hard time financial wise.  I think it's happening everywhere as the national AIDS budgets keep getting cut into.

OK ladies, I'm going to do a quick drive-by on the other threads, and hit the sack.  My algebra teacher is going to take me out to lunch tomorrow, and I want to be rested.  I also want to drag out my spring/summer clohtes and see what's going to be donated, and what's staying.  Have a good sleep all.

Hi Guys-
I can't believe it is going to be April already!

Cin- You and Cheech are beautiful!  I am definately going to check those levis out.  Maybe after the consultant consultants you'll get double the money or at least a really good bonus!  :)

Mum-  I hope that you feel better soon, that does not sound good at all.  I am running out of babies too.  I keep telling the kids they will always be my babies but they aren't buying it.

Viv-  Great pic of yourself and Vivian.  You are both beautiful too.  I don't have any pics of myself,  I am always the one behind the camera.  I hope you had a good vacation.

Queen- I am glad you are feeling better. I will be so glad when my check comes too.

Tre- As far as your hair goes could you braid the front with the braids that are like a 1/2 inch apart and  go 1/2  back and then split off and combine with the next braid and so one and tease the hair behind so the crown would have a place to sit.  Other than that not a clue but good luck :)

HI to everyone else,I hope you had a good weekend.  I expect to be in pain tomorrow.  My older son and I were playing one on one today, and the little ones wanted to play so I kept lifting them up over my head to the hoop.  We had fun, the sun was out but it was still a little chilly.

Night,
Snow

Morning ladies,

Snow, every time I exercise when I haven't for a long time, I'm in agony for a couple days.  I think the only way to get through that is to keep exercising.

Well, when I went shopping yesterday, I got some Commit lozenges.  All the smoking cessation products are just so expensive.  But, when I weigh the cost of them vs. cigarettes, it all works out about the same.  And if I do quit, eventually the cost will be erased.  And even though there's nicotine in them (stop smoking products) there's no tar etc.  I never did feel quite as good as last summer when I quit and was exercising every day.

Today I'm meeting my algebra teacher (one of the classes I took last semester) for lunch.  She called me Saturday and wanted to know how I was etc.  She's an extremely nice person, so I'm looking forward to it.  If it wouldn't have been for her, I probably never would have passed the course.  Sometimes she's a little hard to understand (she's Korean), but I'm sure it will be alright.

Other than that, I have to force myself today to read my homework assignment and take back a movie.  What's everyone else up to?

Betty- That is good you are trying the Commit lozenges and you are right in time, you won't have to pay for them or the cigs so it will be a bonus to you for doing a good job!  My Mother and I went and checked out the local Goodwill's today.  They have loss thier damn minds with the prices. $10 for jackets, $6 for jeans, if they have any furniture that is half way decent shape it is a buck fifty or more.  Hello, I could by new shit cheaper maybe not the furniture but all the clothes.  Sometimes you kind find some good stuff cheap.  I love me a bargain :)  I think your Fannie Mae is our Hebert Candies out here, life is too short to give up chocolate.

It is raining/snowing here but nothing is sticking thank goodness probably because it is more rain than snow but I am so sick of this shit.  I am going to go opick up the kids and then come home and try to get everyone fed and ready for bed so I can try to make it to my first CoDA meeting, should be interesting.

Hope everyone is well.

Snow, good luck with CODA.  They used to have the meetings here, but I think everyone started dating each other (hee).  The Goodwills here aren't as expensive as yours; but with inflation they may be next.

Edited to add:  I just got off the phone with Cristy (cjc).  She's doing fine.  Her computer crashed.  Hopefully she'll be back here soon.  Just thought everyone would want to know.

Evening Ladies---

Another nice day and I got my exercise. I had to walk my gas bill over to my ASO which is about 6 blocks from me and from there I chugged it over to a friend's house which is about 5 blocks up and 6 blocks over from my ASO. I was actually sweating bullets and downed 2 big 32oz cups of water, just plain old water with ice in it. My friend's bf gave me a ride home and when we get to the block, it is full of cops busting my cousin's ass again. Yeah, one of my younger cousins live across the street from me and he is a dealer. As much shit as he gets into, it really has me wondering if he is a snitch. This is the second time they have busted him in a matter of months but they never take his ass to jail.

My son had called me on the cell and gave me the heads up on the situation. He was sitting outside. I had asked him to go to the store to get me a Pepsi and the cops started messing with him for no reason. He explained that he was at my house and waiting on me to get home. It must've been perfect timing because I came walking up the street. He cop eyed me and I eyed him back though quite high and went in my house. I proceeded to check my messages and saw that I got one from Miss Twice A Week (case manager). It appears since I get rental assistance through them til my section 8 kicks in that they can't cover the whole bill and can only make a budget plan payment of 271. I guess something is better than nothing and will stop the shut off notice. I just hope it gets til next month when I can try to keep up with their high budget plan. Paying it off completely is not even an option since crisis doesn't have the funds to help either. I can only hope with the weather getting a bit better we won't have to use as much gas. If section 8 hurries up and sticks to their 2 month wait, I should be moving in May. I won't complain since it will be warm, I will have a car,I can get the hell away from these high ass gas bills and these damn Bebe's kids on the block.

Another month of just keeping my head above water...And another day in the hood.

Have to laugh at Queen referring to Bebe's Kids, that always cracks me up, lmao!   :D  Glad you are feeling better but pissed that the gas bill issue isn't completely resolved and that you got wax in that left ear.

You're right, its always something.

BT` Thanks for the update about Cristy.  Good luck with the Commit lozenges.  Hopefully with better weather around the corner, you can busy yourself outside and distract yourself from wanting to smoke.  C'mon GF you can do it!

Snow~ Those prices DO seem high for used items.  You would do better at Walmart on shirts and stuff!  Yes, those Levi's are magic, although mine are a tad snug in the wist, but they   give    lol  :)   Thanks for the compliments on Cheech and I!  he is my BEST buddy!

Lookit, Viv, like a lil ray of sunshine with that big smile!  Its nice to "meet" you, GF!   ;D

Drag, CAMMS (MIA woman!), Cristy, Win, Wishful, Tendai, Netta, Mum, Paulette, NY, Tre, German....Oh Lordy, I have prob forgotten a few.......lol

OMG, we ARE quite the group, aren't we?

Sleep tight!

Life sucks and I feel like crap!  There, I said it.  I'm back from dance class and ate a bowl of my homemade chili w/ some crackers and water.  I had to stop half way through because it felt like someone was sitting on my chest.  I downed 400mg of Ibuprofin (as an anti-inflamatory) and it finally kicked in towards the end of class.  I'll take another 800mg in a few minutes and head on to bed.  I promise not to die on ya - at least not until after my vacation in June.  We already made the reservation and it's non-refundable :P

I was a horrible mum today.  I had no patients and should've just let the kids run amuck.  Instead, I took it out on them - raised my voice a lot and was totally unforgiving.  So, now, I get to deal with the guilts.  Tomorrow will be better, even if i have to lock myself in my room with duct tape over my mouth and blinders on.  I hate to be that way.  CRAP! >:(

Tomorrow is April Fool's Day, but I won't do anything.  I did get Hubby good one year.  Our #5 - only biological - was born on March 29th, 2003.  On April 1st, 2004, when he was just a year old and #6 was only 2wks old, I ran into the bedroom and handed him a positive pregnancy test.  I thought he was gonna DIE!  He turned ghost white and started heaving.  He grabbed his chest and it really scarred me.  I thought I killed him!  I grabbed his shoulders, shook him, and started screaming "APRIL FOOL'S!  APRIL FOOL'S!"  It was the positive test from almost 2yrs ago.  When he came to his senses, he didn't believe that I was kidding!  He went out and bought a duel-pack test, stood over me and watched me pee on both sticks.  I ended up pissed and he ended up, well....  So, since then, I dont' do anything and we really don't talk about it even existing.  I know, I know, I'm mean...believe me, I've been told.

So, here's to tomorrow and second chances (and third chances, and fourth chances...).  I'll try to stop in tomorrow.

Mum

BTW - our very wonderful friends are finalizing the adoption of a sibling group of 9 on Thursday, April 3rd.  They already had 6 kids, so, do the math ladies - 15 kids!!  14 of them are still home.  The oldest (24) has graduated college and is on her own.  Ages range from 24 to 14mths.  We're going to the party after the court hearing. ;D

Mum, do you have heartburn or indigestion?  Or have you been sick with a head cold?

Call your doctor, GF!  I'm concerned about you.   :-*

Moon, hun, I've had this allergy, sinus, croopy crap since October.  I have good days and bad days, just not "gone" days.  I'm sure that a lot of it is aggrivated by stress, lack of sleep, and the proverbial burning the candle on both ends.  It doesn't help that one days it's 65 and sunny, and the next day is 34 with ice / rain mix.  I don't want to be back on a steroid, so Doc said I can take Ibuprofin (800mg every 4hrs is prescription strength) to relieve the inflammation.  I can only take it at night because it makes me sleepy.  I had to take some at dance class because i flat out couldn't breathe.  I'm going to drink my night cup of chocolate milk, take 800mg and call it a day.  I'm going to try VICKS and the heating pad on my chest tonight, too.  At this point, I'm willing to try just about anything.

Thanks for your concern, sweetie.   It truly means a lot.

Oh Mum I know how you feel with the guilt. Sometimes I can be real snappy with the kids at school and then they hand you a little gift or a picture and you feel so bad. Don't worry.

I agree w/Moon. That tightness in the chest worries me. You should really get checked out. Even if it is nothing it is better to find out.

I am SOOOOO tired tonight. Taking a shower and then getting into bed. Talk to you all later!  :)

Morning ladies,

Mum, I hope you're feeling better today.  I'm with the others, if this doesn't clear up ASAP (tightness in your chest), get it checked out.  I thought your April Fool's story about the 'positive pregnancy' was extremely funny.  I almost spit my coffee on the keyboard.  That was a good one.  About the guilt thing, parenting is trial and error.  I know about feeling guilty.  I used to do the same things with my daughter.  But, you have to forgive yourself and go on.  Kids can be very trying.  They're forgiving at the same time also.  No parent is perfect.  Frankly I don't know how you do it.  And your friend, who's going to be adopting another child, wow.  That's amazing.

Queen, I hope your ASO sending that money to the gas company wards them (gas company) off for awhile.  And I hope section 8 comes through pronto.  Good luck with all that.

Keeping, glad to hear your cousin's baby is off life support.  That's great news.  Good luck on your essay.  I have a research paper due in a couple weeks and haven't even started on it yet.  There's only four more weeks of school left for me, then I'm taking the summer off.  I've been going striaght through for the past year and 1/2, and I need a breather.   Do you have any pictures of your daughter all dressed up for that pageant?  If you do, it would be great to see them.

I have a couple pictures I would like to post on here (from the past), but I don't know how to do it.  I'm going to try to get my brother's gf over here in a couple weeks so she can show me.  She's the computer whiz.

Today I don't have a whole lot to do.  It's going to be cold out, so I don't really want to go out anyway.  I have a gift card I'm going to mail my daughter, get some smokes, and go to school tonight.  I have one more chapter to read for school.  We're reading quite an interesting book.  It's called 'War is a Force That Gives Us Meaning.'  It's won some critical acclaim, has good reviews etc.

I don't think I'm going to use the Commit lozenges.  I think I'm going with the nicotine patches.  I was reading through the instructions with the Commit, and I don't think I could quit using them.  But, I have a whole box of 72 that I'm going to try to give away to someone.  Maybe my ASO will take them.   Now I have to pick a quit date.  I think it will probably be sooner than later.  One of the things that bothers me the most is the smoker's cough/congestion.  I think it's really gross and so unlady like.  Hell, I don't even like to hear men hack.  My 2nd ex used to gag and puke up some pretty rank shit from smoking.  My chest hurts all the time, and I can barely exercise.  I lose my breath so quickly.  All you younger ladies who smoke (I'm 42) and are thinking of quitting, do it now.  The longer one waits, the harder it gets.

I've been so emotional lately.  The least little thing can touch my heart.  They were talking about the 'Idol Gives Back' this morning on the news.  Now, I don't like American Idol.  But that really got to me.  I don't know what this is all about.  I'm usually pretty tough, it takes a lot to move my soul.  I can still detach really easy from things though.  I just don't like this getting all choked up shit.

Well ladies, I'm going to check out a few more threads and exercise.  I'll be back later.

Today is going to be a much better day.  If things get too rough, I have the duct tape and bungee cords close. (for me, not the kids).  I slept better last night and am feeling better today.  It's Hubby's turn to have school with the kids today, so I have the morning "off" - off to do laundry, off to vacuum the livingroom, off to change the sheets.

#2 has baseball practise today if it ever stops raining.  He's already ready to go - 9hrs early ::).  #5 hasn't started yet.  I guess t-ball isn't really that hard of a thing to learn...hit the ball and run..get the ball, run and stand next to the pitcher to make the runner stop.  So, basically, just run until someone tells you to stop running.

I'm off to have my traditional breakfast of chocolate milk and vitamens with an ibuprofin chaser.  I'll talk to you ladies later today.

Mum- I hope you are feeling better today and didn't have to use the duct tape.  I feel like a broken record half the time and should think about getting some duct tape for myself.   I used to use duct tape on the kids but that was keep thier diapers from falling off.  I used to get funny looks at the check out when I had a case of wipes, a case of diapers and a huge roll of duct tape :)LOL. That April Fools joke was hysterical, sorry it didn't work out.  My daughter has been wanting her hair braided so I have been watching some vids on youtube to try to figure it out, I haven't tried it yet but here is one of the links that was pretty good, if you are still interested. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IlHSEf9BHo

Netta- Sorry to hear about your diarrhea yesterday I hope you are feeling better today. I hope you have lots of fun in Virginia Beach next week, your girlfriend is so nice!  I read on-line if you direct deposit that payment it will go in according to last 2 digits of your soc #, you would probably get it in early May.  I tried to do mine on-line and the website I went to was supposed to have my state and didn't.  Figures, Just my luck.

Betty- I don't think it is suprising that you are emotional with everything you have been through in the last 2 yrs.  Let it flow, feel what you need to feel and you will, release the negative stuff and you will  be back to your tough self in no time.  I cry everytime I watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition, they have some corny moments but some of the ways they reach out and help people make me cry like a baby.

Keeping- I am so happy to hear your cousins son is off life support, Thank goodness!  I hope she is as well as can be expected under the circumstances.

Speaking about crying.  I went to my first meeting last night and cried after I shared?  I am not really sure why.  The topic was boundaries.  I am going to have to discuss it more with my therapist.  One of my big problems is money.  I think I told you guys I had to file bankruptcy last year.  A huge part of me having to file was my SO not contributing nearly enough to the household bills or any bills for that matter. I still haven't figured out how to address the issue.  I have talked nicely, screamed and yelled, threatened,, slept on the couch for months,  laid it all out, made a budget and I have gotten no where?  I hope this is one of the things that I will be able to figure out in the near future.

Tendai- How are you doing, how did the elections go on Saturday.  I haven't watched the news.  I hope you are well.
Sun- How's training going? Is Whitey still in the picture?
Cjc- How is Robert doing with his peeing.  I have been taking to waking my son up around 11 or midnight and taking him to the bathroom.  It has helped a little and he is feeling more confident.
Hi to Paulette, Drag, Viv, Moon, Queen, Tredai, Thandi,Lovely....everyone!  I hope you are all well.

Hey Ladies---

I'm going to say it now, I am high as a kite so if I fail to mention anyone or anything, blame it on the weed..lol..It did say Vagina Beach, I kept rereading it myself. I was thinking if there is one, it must be a spot for lesbians which is cool to me because most gay guys have their spot, feel me? I know I got jokes today too..*smiles*

Betty, I have emotional moments like that too. Last night I was near tears because Ric Flair retired from wrestling. Damn near all the wrestlers including Flair was in tears. But I knew it was coming, they been playing on it for months on tv. I still have to call my case manager to see what the deal is with the gas thing. I'll know more in a bit.

I have been noticing how all of us ladies have been ailing one way or another lately. What's up with that? Group bug? I still have an occassional cramp here and there but am feeling much better. I think drinking the water yesterday helped too. Mum, I agree with the others, get your butt to a doctor. I know I am one to talk but the chest thing isn't nothing to fool around with. I gave up on the med holiday with my diabetes. I have been checking my fasting sugars the last few days and they have been close or over 200. I guess that's what I needed to see and was going through an invincible thing. I did stop taking my Celexa though. And I have been doing fine...no depression or being bummed. My ID doc is going to have a hissy fit but I am tired of being bogged down with pills. And I think being more active now that it has gotten a bit warmer has me feeling pretty good too.

Wishful--- LIHEAP is out of money. I checked with them yesterday. If the ASO pays the 271 it will just keep my gas on but I am still behind a budget plan payment too. But the gas bill here is outrageous and nothing is going to change til I can get out of here. I wish Section 8 would hurry up. My sister who is one Section 8 has a 2 bedroom and it is just her. She has been on it for years and is telling me you can have as many bedrooms as you want as long as you fall into some rent range or something. Can you clarify that for me?

Since it was only my small check today. I got a few things and got some weed. I am counting the days til Thursday when I will have the car.....Yiiiippppppeeeee. Nothing planned today but to chill and take the garbage out. I'll check back later....

Queen she is right. As long as the rent range is acceptable under section 8 guidelines..meaning..lets say for me i have 3 kids so they approve me a rent range of 1284 for a 3 bedroom..if i find a 4-5 br within that range (could be finished attic and/or basement)...they cant reject it..(i mean unless for other reasons..like not passing inspection) So her rent range prolly followed that of a 1 br but she found a place that happen to have 2..which happens all the time...
I guess LIHEAP vaires form state to state...how about catholic charities, UPI, Homefront...these maybe NJ places tho...but if youve heard of any of them there..try em..

Wish, I am very sorry.  Dammit. I knew I was forgetting someone and couldn't think of who it was, I'd like to blame it on the weed but I haven't tested those waters since starting my new meds.  I was wondering how things were going with your shitbag.  Hopefully, he has gone back home and not giving you anymore in your face drama.  Unfortunately, I have been through almost the same shit with my olders sons father and it isn't pretty.  You will be amazed in yourself when you realize the inner strength you have to defend and protect your children.  I am thinking of you, your children and your situation even though I forgot to mention you :) and I am here if you ever need to chat.

I'm still blaming it on the weed, dammit.... ;) ;D....I have a bit of good news to share. I applied for 2 jobs in the hood, nothing major, one at a laundry mat and the other at the neighborhood store. I was told by the store to bring my ID and SS card on the 15th so I think I may have me a job. Just a PT gig but it's some extra money on the side. I want to save up for a truck and do some other things. Also my case manager called me back, they are going to pay the 271 which is a payment plan and will stop the shut off. I am grateful for that and this job along with the car is right on time. I am so psyched. Perks of the job, my co- workers smoke the good green too including the boss. Wooooo Hoooo. But I plan on being sober as a judge til I get a feel for the job.... ;) Gotta love the hood, I swear. Things are looking up.

Wishful--- I forgot about the drama with the baby daddy. Girl, if he try to get physical with your ass, here's a few things you can do....1) Warm up some hot grease or grits while he is talking shit from behind the door....2) Put in a call to the Po Po while he is talking shit behind the door and grits or grease is warming up.....3) If he starts showing his ass and try to break in, throw hot grease or grits on his ass, close door and wait for Po Po but call 911 for the poor bastard...It will look good in court.....Laughing@myself but serious too. Or you could pull a Tina Turner move and whip that fool with something.... ;)

Snow, thanks for the video link.  i watched it and kudoes to the little girl for sitting through the whole thing.  When Min's hair was longer, I could french braid it, but only in 2 sections.  Any more than that and it got too small for my fingers to hold.  Maybe I just need to put more goo in it.  I also don't see us working on it for 2 days - especially since it normally comes out when she sleeps on it.  Her hair is growing and isn't a bad length considering she was skin-bald only 7mths ago.  I liked her hair when it was short - it really showed off her face and eyes.  I may see if she wants it cut that way (on purpose, this time, and by a professional).  She likes wearing barretts, but I could get them in fine when her hair was shorter.  Does anyone else notice that meds are doing / have done a number on your hair?

LOL at your picture Wish - that looks like Mim in about 50% of her pictures! I still have my cough and got some sinus / allergy stuff.  I hope it works because I'm running out of ideas and patience.

Queen: good luck with the jobs.  Having some extra money and not having to spend it on gas to drive far are both positives.  I hope it works out for you.

To everyone else, I hope you are having a great Monday and here's to an even better Tuesday!!

Mum (who still isn't up to par, but it will come...eventually)

Hey girls- its been a while.  Cin, you and cheech look great.  He's a handsome pupski.  Thanks too on the jeans.  I wear an 8 and they are a perfect fit.  However the knee is about to play peek a boo and I'm gonna have to just suck it up and buy a new pair of jeans.
Queen-  how are you doing?  I read your posts about boo, upsetting and filled with  alot of surprises.  What a shame.

Vagina Beach I thought was a  new trend in shaving the vagina....like the Brazilian.

Great shot of you Viv!

I've been real busy.  My office moved from a 20 minute commute to a 45 minute commute.  Seems like everyone is very unhappy with the move and has brought everyone to a new low. Needless to say I have been working on my resume and websites.  I'm grateful to have a job but with gas prices so high, its tough, especially since i"m filling up every two days and spending $50 each time.

Hope everyone is doing well.

It's certainly good to hear from you, Camille. I was wondering what was up with you. Sorry to hear about the job morale. How is the love life going? Weren't you in love last you spoke? I have a time keeping up with folks especially today. Roomie bought me a bottle of Arbor Mist and was doing a little puffing with some company. We don't get company often in these parts. I guess we are too boring...lol

Mum-- How long is Mini's hair now? If you can't french braid her hair can you at least braid it into little pigtails? I would need to see the length to actually come up with ideas. Or is her hair really curly? Have you tried tying her head up with a silk scarf. That is usually what is done when one has braids, it's suppose to help the braids last longer. I never took up cosmetology or anything. What I know is from personal experience or talking with some of the girls in the hood. But I don't let anyone in my hair, I do my own. I have had horror stories with girls in the hood doing my hair and salons. Though I had a gay dude do my hair when I lived in Florida and he was the shiznit. Wouldn't know any gay guys who can do hair do you? I haven't noticed my meds doing anything to my hair but does Atripla or Ziagen do anything?

I think I am going to walk away from the computer for awhile. I am feeling kind of loopy...Check in later.

Queen, here's a picture of her that was taken a couple of weeks ago.  Maybe you can tell the length from it.  It's "stacked" up in the back and is VERY curly. I was looking at it tonight and I may be able to braid it in 4 sections (part it in the middle and do 2 french braids on each side) but not all the way down.  Probably to the crown.  Someone told me to put a knee high stocking over her head to help hold the braids.  The little curlies kept poking out.  Sorry, I don't know any other way to describe it.  I don't want to put a ton of product - hairspray, gel, mousse - in it because they'll just dry out her hair.  Anyway, here's the picture:

Just wanted to say hello

I have introduced myself elsewhere - but it was suggested |I join this thread

Really great to find you all

I have been looking on the Internet since i was diagnosed in Jan for a 'safe' forum for women with HIV and I think now I have at last found one :)

I run a forum ( which is now registered as a UK charity)  for women with another stigmatised health issue and have done for many years - PPD/PND/PNI - I am not trying to advertise - just trying to fill you in on who I am and what I stand for -  if it is allowed to post a link to it I will - other wise just do a Google to:

Veritee, PNI, UK and I am sure you will find our web site and forum I founded

and I have tired to start a forum  for women with HIV who live in the UK,  in the part of the UK I live in - i.e Cornwall - because i wanted/needed to get in contact with other women in my area with this thing.

Anyway it is great I have  found this place - it is such a relief

Late evening ladies:

Veritee, let me say welcome to our little 'click.'  It's always great to have another HIV+ woman join us.  By the way, is that your hair in the picture?  I love it!

Queen, congratulations on everything (job, car)! ;D  I'm so happy something's finally working out for you.

Wish, I love that avatar!  I feel like that some days.

Netta, I hope you're feeling better.  Diarrhea can be quite the problem to deal with.

Snow, what's going on with you?  Are you doing alright?

Camms, so good to hear from you!  Sorry your new job situation is such a drag.  I'm glad you (finally) checked in with us.  And thanks for the pm.

Well, I got Kid Rock's first CD (Devil Without a Cause).  I got it when it originally came out, but God knows what happened to it through all my moves.  I also (finally) went through all my clothes and took 5 huge bags to Goodwill.  I recycle all the time.

School was uneventful.  There was a speaker there from the HRC (Human Rights Commission).  That was kind of interesting.  I get their magazine (HRC).  I try to keep up, I really do.  Nothing else earth-shattering to report.

Oh, by the way mum, today is Tuesday. :D  That's alright.  If I were in your situation, I wouldn't be able to keep the days straight either.  Have a good one ladies-

Welcome Veritee, and now its WAY past your bedtime, lol!   ;D

Its past mine, too, so I will try to catch up tomorrow when I don't have an evening appointment.

Mum~  I got allergies for the FIRST time ever last Oct - Dec.  I mean, I was fine on 10/4 and then on 10/5 I started sneezing and coughing, thought I had a cold.  By 10/10 I had nearly lost my voice and was coughing!  Oh, yes, and on 10/23 I had my first phone call with Iceman and boy did I sound "sexy!"  LOL

Now that Spring is here, I have started on Loratadine 10mg a day.  Its the OTC equivalent to Claritin, I buy the Walmart brand.  Its a 1x/day pill, and it makes all the difference in the world.

My point is, you may have allergies.  For the longest time (let's not forget the three months of hell last Fall and Winter) I thought it was a head cold.  Molds and mildews in the Fall, and now trees and grasses in the Spring.  A lot of people have been suffering from allergies over the past year and esp this Spring since its been milder, believe it or not.  I'm just East of you in Frederick, MD so I bet we're breathing the same pollenated air.   :D

Please take care of yourself!

Win, your pics are great!  I know which person they are referring to from Mad TV, but I can't think of her name right now  :-\

Queen, congrats on possibly getting a job, I think it would be good for you.  And the grease and Po Po act cracked me up, lol!

Camms, glad you liked the jeans!  You got the 512s?  Aren't they awesome?

More to all of you when I can sit up, must get to bed now.......so sorry.

~ Cindy and the Cheechster too!

Betty-  It is raining cats and dogs here and if felt like our house just got hit by lighting about an hour ago, so I have been trying to get the dogs and my daughter calmed back down.  I have a long day tomorrow.  Drop my oldest off for tutoring for 7:30, get the trips dressed and to school by 9, group at 10:30, therapy at 12, volunteering at 1:15, pick up oldest at 3:30, trips at 4, cub scouts at 6:30. Hopefully, the rain stops by morning because of course the 2 schools are 20 minutes apart and people drive like complete idiots in this weather.  I hate having to rush everywhere. I think I just saw a speech tonight that Ann Hathaway gave at an HRC award banquet, funny that you mention it . I am doing alright, Thank you for asking :)

Queen- Braiding question?  When cornrowing and taking the two strands each time from behind are you supposed to pick up more hair each time on each side.  Thats what part confuses me.  How many do you do before you start picking up more hair.  Congrats on your car and the job....both will be great...now if section 8 kicks in you will be golden.

Win- I love your animated pic!  It is so Harry Potter  ;D  How have you been feeling?

Veritee-  I like your hair too.  Definately come back when you get some rest!

Hello Wish :)  How long have you worked with Section 8?  When I was working with property management last summer I had to work with some of thier inspectors and good lord, they were sticklers.

Welcome back, Camms!

Sweet Dreams everyone,
Snow

Holy Crap, Betty, thanks for keeping me straight!  So, that makes it Wednesday already.  Not too sure where the week went.  It's way too early in the morning for me to be up, but I'm playing Sentry duty.  Found #1 watching TV at 1:45am and told him to get his happy butt to bed.  Then, I get up at 3:30am and he's back in front of the TV.  So, here I sit in my rocking chair, in the dark, daring him to sneak back out again.  Ok, Ok, plus I can't breathe and I need to sit up until my meds kick in.  There, the whole truth. :P

I have Claritin in the medicine chest.  It's what Doc suggested we get Mini when she had her Viramune reaction.  It wasn't working so we went back and got her good ol' Benedryl.  Not sure it worked, but it knocked her silly.  I can't take anything during the day because everything makes me sleepy.  Well, except Nyquil which keeps me awake, go figure.  Even baby asprin knocks me loopy.  My body is just weird that way.

Another 15 minutes and I should be able to breathe vertically.  I'm going to scan the rest of the forum then try and go back to sleep.

Good Morning All---

I am not sure what the hell I am doing up when I just went to bed a few hours ago. After posting this, I will try to go back to sleep. I am excited about the changes in things with me too but am not getting too happy just yet. I guess that is the pessimist in me. I am still waiting to hear back from the darn mechanic. He got the car running but hasn't done the pre-inspection thing yet. I wish he would hurry up, he knows that I will be thru tomorrow.

Mum, Thanks for showing me a pic of Mini, now I see what you are dealing with. I would go with pigtails or braiding extensions into her hair to grow it out more. I know what you mean about meds knocking you for a loop, that happens to me too. And since we are on braiding, to answer Snow's answer, yes you are suppose to grab hair each time, that is what keeps the braid close to your head.

Cindy--What act, girl? I was dead serious. I have done it myself, just never got to throwing the grease or grits because Po Po always showed up before I had to. I think I am getting slammed with allergies already too. I think I have more than the outdoor kind that my doctor says I have. I always wake up sneezing and congested.

Veritee---Welcome to the forums, looking forward to hearing more from you. And your hair definitely is a bold move... ;) Reminds me when I use to dye mine purple in the 80's. Has also been a blonde before too and that is a bold color to pull off when you're black and puerto rican.

Betty-- I think it's about time that some good things started going my way....*runs over to Frederick and rub's Cindy's belly*....Come here my golden haired buddha....*scratches Cheech behind the ears and runs back to room*. But being the pessimist that I can be, I am not getting excited just yet.

Ok, it is now daylight and I need to go back to sleep. I will check in when I rise from the land of the sleeping beauties....

Dear all

I am sorry I can not respond to you all individually and that am not following your stories properly as yet

I guess as I have just joined in it will take me time to catch up? But in the meantime - thank you all for being here :)

I have had bright pink, red or purple hair since 1973, but then I lived in London

Now I live in rural Cornwall and pink is also 'a bit of a bold color to pull off' especially when you are  of gypsy origin and live in the depths of the English countryside!!!! But it is part of who I am.

( being Gypsies - as my husband and I both are - is in the British culture one of the oldest causes of discrimination here - even though it is not detectable that you are by skin colour etc, but I am proud of my culture/genetic origin so do not hide it )

Great to meet you all - I will 'catch up' with who you all are as soon as I can
