Halloween
« on: August 11, 2007, 02:59:21 pm »
Halloween has always been my favorite holiday...yes I was a gay child.  I love dressing up for it, and still do.
Here are some of my past Halloween looks I thought I'd share with you.

Gawd I used to love Halloween!

I wish my scanner weren't busted and tossed, as I have some very fetching costume-shots from dim Octobers past.

There was the year I got several pals to all wear towels and facepacks so we could be the GoGos. We terrorized a bar and several parties until they played Lust To Love.

Then there was the year we went as a White Wedding. My sister was the groom, her friend the best man, my ex was a truly hideous bride. I was the Unwanted Aunt, because every really White Wedding has at least one.

Too bad it canceled in the Castro this year

Why was it cancelled? I was in SF at Halloween time about 5 yrs. ago. Castro area was amazing......people everywhere.......filling the streets and sidewalks for blocks.

The Great Pumpkin will skip San Francisco this year.

City officials said Wednesday that there will be no official Halloween celebration anywhere in San Francisco in October - not in the Castro neighborhood, the traditional home of the event, and not at a parking lot near AT&T Park, which had been considered as an alternate site.

"There will be no party," said Audrey Joseph, president of the city's Entertainment Commission.

OR....they could have just been proactive about it and task forced on how to make it safer and more organized for everyone.

They sound like the same bunch running things around Atlanta.

it is a sad sad day when there is no Halloween in the Castro.   :'( :'( :'( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

mainly the violence is caused by idiots from the East and South Bay who make their once a year trip to the city to see the "freaks".  Such BS.
It's all good though, we still have Folsom Street Fest, which I have to say is even more fun than Halloween.
