Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Worry about oral sex :-(

Hello all the guys in this meaning forum. you are so nice and great.
 I'm an asian male , 24 years old , i just take a look threads in this forum , it helps me so much, thank u for ur good works.here is my situation :-(
  Last night , i had a protected intercourse with a condom but before that i had unprotectected oral sex with a sex worker who is unknown status,i was just going down with give her oral sex on her vagina about 8 minutes. i'm so worrying now because i have dental problem, my teeth sometime it hurts me and it bleeds blood, so i'm scared that will be a risk. Now i'm so anxiuos , need all ur helps.

Days, the risk in terms of HIV and giving oral are more theoretical than actual. Which means transmission could happen but in fact is not borne out actual statistics. Too many factors have to come together to make it an actual risk, so it just doesn't happen.

What is essential is that you continue to use latex condoms everytime you have intercourse. No exceptions. As long as you do that consistently you will ok as far as HIV is concerned.

This time out I don't see cause for concern about HIV.

Worried About Reusing Condom and Oral sex.

Hello.
I'm 27 male from south east asia.
Yesterday night i was so drunk so i have had sex with a female sex worker. I put the condom on and put my penis in hers. After about 2 minutes, she wanted to perform the oral sex on me (blow job) , and she did it about 1 minute.After that, she put the used condom back on my penis and continue had sex with her. At the end i checked the condom and it was not broken inside of her.But my worrying that she put on the condom not right side with any infected fliuds from her ejaculate or pre-ejaculate.So my questions is how about my risk?and will i have a hiv test?.Sorry about my english but your answer are very kind of you.Thanks you.

First of all, I have merged your previous thread with your new one. Please follow our rule and keep all of your entries in this same thread.

OK, now to your latest concern. You are worrying unnecessarily. Receiving a blowjob is absolutely no risk whatsoever for HIV transmission. You used a condom for intercourse. Perfect. That's exactly what you should do. As for your concern about re-uising the condom after receiving oral, I don't see any problem with that either. HIV is a fragile virus loses its viability very quickly after being exposed to air. And if the condom had broken that would have been very apparent to the eye. When a condom breaks it's not a subtle thing of a teeny hole. The whole thing goes and ends up looking like a hoop with fringe on it.

No, I don't see any need for testing nor for further concern on your part.

Thank for your reply so much Andy,it helps me so much.It's very nice that i ve noticed your last reply in 2006, it's very nice of you.
I'm worried because i ve searched on the internet and have found: " One problem with reusing condoms is contact with fluids, especially if there is ejaculate or pre-ejaculate in the condom (this poses a risk for the receptive partner). Any infected fluids from your partner that come into contact with the exterior or interior of the condom may pose a risk for infection. " but i believe your answer although i don't know how the risk it is.
I was so drunk so i don't remember the woman put the condom on me right way ( same interior or exterior of the condom) or not?.Yes i checked the condom and found out it was not broken, as you said when the condom is broken it's very apparent to the eye it means not a teeny hole is it? She put out the condom for having oral sex about 1 minute so is it enough time for losing the virus's viability? I'm still confused.

If you continue to surf the net for "answers" I can guarantee you will find plenty there to feed your worst fears. All to no good or conclusive purpose. I've already told you what I think of your incident. NO RISK!

The only reason for you to get tested for HIV is if you are going to make yourself nutz over this non-risk incident. In that case, get tested at 6 weeks and collect the inevitable negative result. Otherwise, take a breath and just get on with your life. We're not going to get caught up in your worrying details and what ifs. You were not at risk in this incident. Period.
