Title: fellatio
Post by: mark1985 on July 07, 2006, 08:27:11 am
hi all,

it is more than a week that i am paranoid. i cannot sleep at night because i am afraid i got hiv from a fellatio. i received a fellatio by a transsexual. i had no condom on. the day after i notice on my penis some abrasions (little cuts made by teeth's i think). i am very afraid of having received hiv from this transex guy. i have read lots of stuff on this, but my worries don't leave me alone. i thinks to myself, why should he have hiv virus, and even if he has it why should he have a cut in his mouth, and even if these things are both true why should i have received hiv from him if statistics say it is very rare that fellatio can transmit aids (sorry for the incorrect english)
Some say it is at low risk, other say it is high risk. how do i have to listen to??????!!!!!
i know that saliva does not transmit hiv virus. but if the transex, who was doing a BJ on me had a cut in his mouth, i think the risk is very high.
please help me clear my mind. i really regret what i have done. and now i will star to do some propaganda on safe sax. safe sax forever.

thanks mark

Mark, you need to relax. No one has even gotten HIV from being given a blowjob and you won't be the first.

Mark, getting a blowjob is one of the most common sexual activities. In the entire history of the epidemic there has never been a documented case of transmission in this manner.

And that includes guys who have had nicks, "cuts," rashes and various other things they fear make them "special risks" for transmission. And none of them have ended up becoming infected. You aren't going to make history by being the first. It's totally irrelevant that your with a transsexual, which in your mind maybe another scarey factor.

This is all about feelings and it has no basis in HIV science. There are other STDs out there which can be transmitted via oral sex.

If you are sexually active it's a good idea to have a full panel of the standard STD tests done regularly -- at least annually -- and more frequently if you have any symptoms.

As far as HIV is concerned you don't have any cause for concern here. If you should have intercourse, make certain that whomever is the insertive partner is always wearing a latex condom. Everytime. No exceptions.

Cheers,

thanks rapidron and andy, your words make me feel better. ok, there is no documented case. but lets assume that the person doing the BJ is HIV+ and has a cut in the mouth, and the person receiving it gets his penis cut during the BJ. in this case there is blood contact, even if it is in small amounts, is there any risk what so ever???!!!

anyways i just wanted to say that this forum is great, people who are afraid to talk about this can come here and receve answers from others.

andy, sorry for my ignorance, but what are STDs??

STD means, Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Mark it would not make a difference if they had a cut in their mouth or not. Saliva does not transmitt HIV.

rapidrod i know that saliva doesn't transmit the virus, but if the scrubs on the penis enter in contact with any cut in the mouth, u cannot say there is no risk, or can you??
we cannot say there is no risk, we can say that it is very little. but, besides this and putting apart my case, i want to let other have a clear idea the fellatio and the risks. i know that blood contact can transmit hiv but does it have to be in big quantity or just a little bit is sufficient??? and the cuts in the mouth have to be bleeding or no????

In 25 plus years of receiving blowjobs there is not one documented case of someone contracting HIV. We haven't been talking give blowjobs were talking receiving them.

mark,

This is an hiv website and we don't delve too deeply into the other sexually transmitted infections here. The main ones you might come into contact with via oral are herpes and gonorrhea, and also possibly chlamydia and syphilis. If you want to know more, check out the inSPOT (http://www.inspot.org/std-info/sexual-risk.aspx?regionid=2&sitelvl=1) website.

Just to reinforce what the others have said, you were not at risk for hiv infection through getting a blowjob.

Can I get HIV from oral sex?

Yes, it is possible for either partner to become infected with HIV through performing or receiving oral sex. There have been a few cases of HIV transmission from performing oral sex on a person infected with HIV. While no one knows exactly what the degree of risk is, evidence suggests that the risk is less than that of unprotected anal or vaginal sex.

If the person performing oral sex has HIV, blood from their mouth may enter the body of the person receiving oral sex through

    * the lining of the urethra (the opening at the tip of the penis);
    * the lining of the vagina or cervix;
    * the lining of the anus; or
    * directly into the body through small cuts or open sores.

If the person receiving oral sex has HIV, their blood, semen (cum), pre-seminal fluid (pre-cum), or vaginal fluid may contain the virus. Cells lining the mouth of the person performing oral sex may allow HIV to enter their body.

The risk of HIV transmission increases

    * if the person performing oral sex has cuts or sores around or in their mouth or throat;
    * if the person receiving oral sex ejaculates in the mouth of the person performing oral sex; or
    * if the person receiving oral sex has another sexually transmitted disease (STD).

Not having (abstaining from) sex is the most effective way to avoid HIV.

If you choose to perform oral sex, and your partner is male,

    * use a latex condom on the penis; or
    * if you or your partner is allergic to latex, plastic (polyurethane) condoms can be used.

Studies have shown that latex condoms are very effective, though not perfect, in preventing HIV transmission when used correctly and consistently. If either partner is allergic to latex, plastic (polyurethane) condoms for either the male or female can be used. For more information about latex condoms, see "Male Latex Condoms and Sexually Transmitted Diseases."

If you choose to have oral sex, and your partner is female,

    * use a latex barrier (such as a natural rubber latex sheet, a dental dam or a cut-open condom that makes a square) between your mouth and the vagina. A latex barrier such as a dental dam reduces the risk of blood or vaginal fluids entering your mouth. Plastic food wrap also can be used as a barrier.

If you choose to perform oral sex with either a male or female partner and this sex includes oral contact with your partners anus (analingus or rimming),

    * use a latex barrier (such as a natural rubber latex sheet, a dental dam or a cut-open condom that makes a square) between your mouth and the anus. Plastic food wrap also can be used as a barrier.

If you choose to share sex toys with your partner, such as dildos or vibrators,

    * each partner should use a new condom on the sex toy; and
    * be sure to clean sex toys between each use.

Guys,

Please don't pay any attention to San_2002. He's telling you fibs. I've reported him to the moderators.

San you didn't post all the information from the CDC. If you want to copy and paste make sure you get all the information. There are NO documented cases of anyone that has received a blowjob of getting HIV.

San,

You're wrong on this matter and what you're posting is only scaring people unnecessarily. You've been told time and time again to stay in your own thread. You're not an expert and nobody cares what you think.

I've reported it to the moderators. I'm not going to debate the matter with you any further.

I'm sure Ann will deal with this when she logs on.

San,

You've been asked several times to stay in your own thread. You've been warned about getting a time out. (http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=311.msg16452#msg16452)

And tonight you've been spamming this forum.

I'm giving you a one week time out and it starts right now.

Do not create a new account to get around your time out or you will be banned permanently, no questions asked.

Ann
