Sunce so many drugs are now combinations, and I get mine from the VA who use only the pharma name, I will list them here.

Lopinavir
Ritonavir
Tenofovir
Zidovudine
Abacavir
Lamivudine
Acyclovir
Omiprazole
Niacin
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Daily Multivitamin

There, I got them all.

Love.
The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals,
and 362 to heterosexuals.
This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,
It's just that they need more supervision.

I'm still trying to figure out the relevancy of this thread.  I realize it's probably just useless banter and general interest, but I fear someone might actually try to self-diagnosis what regimen is best for them by what is most popular.

Philly,

Yes!

I placed my list of meds with the pharma names here both because those are the correct names, and also because I don't use brand names, because in my work in HIV, we don't.  I sit on the Formulary Committee for ADAP in the state of Arizona.  We not only know the medications on the list, but approve them.  We don't use trade or brand names to keep things clear and understandable for all, including the newly infected, and the Pharmacists who live and work this science.

Immediately after my post in this thread, the author followed by giving me the brand names of all my medications, but in his lack of understanding of all this, he left one out completely.  I wasn't going to comment, but since this thread is still at the top of the page, I now want to straighten out why I did what I did.  Unfortunately, I feel like you that many will never check out the reality of why medications are callled what they are called and never understand that this is an international forum and many of the same drugs we call one thing are called another in other countries.

Also, there are many combination drugs available to other countries that we don't have access to, simply because the combinations cross company lines and are therefore not acceptable here in the U.S. because Merck, Pfizer, and all the rest won't permit cross company exploits.  Capitalism does have many faults and we are sometimes barred from efficacious combos simply because two or three companies are the source.

I hope this post makes sense, and if not, chalk it up to nausea and pain.

Love.

This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals,

Well, in most conversations I've been in (face-to-face) about HIV, the subject of drugs comes up.  I certainly don't feel that asking those here who haven't mentioned their meds "hey, what meds do you take" is appropriate.  Why not have a thread about it?  It's certainly a LOT more relevant to living with HIV than many threads on this forum.

Atripla

I switched from Epzicom, Lexiva and Norvir because of side effects ( fatigue and diarrhea ) my ex doctor said didn't exist. Guess I'm still PO'ed about that.
Damn the Torpedoes! Full speed ahead! Adm. D. Farragut.

Started Atripla 8/18/06 and if I eat the right food when I take my meds, I get to go on a-trip-la.

I'm still trying to figure out the relevancy of this thread.  I realize it's probably just useless banter and general interest, but I fear someone might actually try to self-diagnosis what regimen is best for them by what is most popular.

Must I have your approval each time I decide to do a Poll? Must we all make sense to you? Many of your replies make no sense at all to me but I don't whine about it. I honestly hope your complaint about this thread is a joke. You seemed to have enjoy the Top/Bottom thread alot and other which are obviously less relavant to people who are HIV poz. If you are going to police people please do so fairly otherwise you are not obligated to answer this thread. People will self-diagnose themselves regardless of this thread and it's not like they can go to the local pharmacy and get their meds over the counter.

"Immediately after my post in this thread, the author followed by giving me the brand names of all my medications, but in his lack of understanding of all this, he left one out completely."
Moffie, I do understand and I left out more than one out.

"Also, there are many combination drugs available to other countries that we don't have access to, simply because the combinations cross company lines and are therefore not acceptable here in the U.S. because Merck, Pfizer, and all the rest won't permit cross company exploits.  Capitalism does have many faults and we are sometimes barred from efficacious combos simply because two or three companies are the source."

If you are taking HAART and don't know what the drugs consist of then thats not my problem nor yours. Most people do research about the meds they are taking. I also did say that if there was a drug that I did not list to mention it to me and I would place it on the poll. I actually thought you were the person who didn't understand the poll since you added multivitamain which is not HAART.

I would expect someone who is not in a country where these brand named drugs are not available to complain about this thread but so far you are the only one who has a problem, beside Philly which I am not surprised. Many people have participated in the pole nicely without much complaints, so far only two people selected "other" as an option (i wonder who it is). If it is not gonna hurt you why whine?

Like I said, I was just asking and that I realize that it's aim was probably just general interest.  I guess I just wanted to add a qualifier of sorts into the discussion that people shouldn't look at the results as providing much relevancy to their individual circumstance.  I'm sure most of us here realize this, but there are so many "guests" who view the web site that I thought it prudent to bring this up.

I'm sorry that this seems to have offended you.  It was certainly not meant as any sort of personal attack.  I'm very sorry that many of my replies in other threads make no sense at all to you however.  I really was not aware of this.

Geez, I'm the only person who takes Trizivir?  No wonder it costs so much!

I've been on Trizivir "monotherapy" since October, 2004, when I started HAART by participating in a clinical trial.  Even though Trizivir is a combination of 3 NRTIs (abacavir sulfate, AZT, 3TC) and standard practice is to combine NRTIs with an NNRTI or a PI, my viral load has been <400 since December, 2004 so there doesn't seem to be any reason to change.  If Trizivir stops working against my designer HIV I guess I'm screwed in the NRTI options but surely by that time the cure will be found?

And I am Marie of Roumania!

No Boodles, Matty the Damned takes Trizivir too. He simply listed it as abacavir, zidovudine and lamivudine because he didn't see "Trizivir" on the list.

Besides it sounds so much cooler to be on 5 medications. ;)

Oh fuck! It is there! The Queer Plague must be rotting my brains.
